Bro, I wasn't referring to her ethnicity. I was referring to her garbage AI. :mjlol
Ah gotcha.

Sorry about that.
Real shit, 95% of my game overs in RE5 was because of Sheva doing something retarded. Endless frustration with her, I tell ya. :russ
Yeah it's not great but you can KIND OF work around it.

It didn't ruin the experience for me, I still enjoyed the hell out of Resident Evil 5 more than I did 4 in all honesty. Babysitting Ashley was way more annoying, as were the puzzles which were just kind of a waste of time for me.

Although obviously Wesker being an awesome villain had a lot to do with RE5 being more enjoyable. :maybe

I'd honestly say I enjoyed 4 more than 5, but I will admit that Ashley was incredibly annoying.

.....

Bruh she literally hands you the item you need to get to Lusat
That wasn't hers. It belonged to a Sellian sorcerer, and they gave it to her. All she knew was that it could break the barrier holding him.

A place called Sellia, in the eastern Caelid Wilds. Thinking about it, I obtained the glintstone key I gave you from a Sellian sorcerer. It wouldn't be too much of a leap to suppose he's still cooped up nearby.

The fact someone else was steering her toward him makes it clear there are other players here manipulating things in the background.
Uh what personal costs? She downright states she was exiled for participating in the research and we know what the research on the current was doing
She explicitly mentions no matter what they give in return. Not what others give in return. This is probably referencing the fact they become like crystallians. It's a side-effect of continually using the primeval current, but the problem is that it takes a long time to actually stick. Her change was sudden and abrupt. Suggesting another external factor was involved.
If you mean her body thats even more damning as even Jerren says this isn't the first time she's switched bodies and the fact that theres a graven mass protecting her body in WP doesn't help
She was being held prisoner in the Witchbane Ruins and tortured. This is her dialogue when you find her earlier before she asks you to save her.

It will do no good, I swear it...and yet you persist, you frothing degenerates...A...argh!

It wasn't her hiding place. It was where the Carian Royals were keeping her prisoner. That's why I said another primeval sorcerer was acting against her. Since only primeval sorcerers can do that.

Sellen brings them to the academy and its after she oops herself into a graven mass that you can go back and loot them implying they "were" alive when you met them.
I doubt it was Sellen who giant balled herself. Since unless she literally wanted to become a star it doesn't make sense. It's something you have to do on purpose.
A conspectus isn't a person its an aspect. Her conspectus was moon sorcery and after showing it she was made leader of the academy. My guess is the only reason she didn't take grandmaster as a title is because her titles already queen
A conspectus is both a branch of sorcery, and a title referring to the founder of said branch. Lunar sorcery didn't exist until Rennala introduced it to the academy, and she learned it from studying the moon itself. Nobody taught her. She wasn't made the leader of the academy. The Carian Royals took over, and ejected the other founders at some point. Then the Cuckoos rebelled, infighting happened, and Rennala's own followers trapped her in the Grand Library. After they became disllusioned with her when she became an invalid.
You wouldn't have to engage in direct combat with two ancient old dudes who couldn't even speak to kill them :maybe
You can try to kill them yourself but it's impossible. I doubt it's an oversight either. Since, for example with Gowry, he doesn't stay dead because he has access to other bodies and body hops. And he notes as such to you when he returns.

They're powerful enough that they somehow rendered themselves untouchable even to the likes of the player character, and it's not because they are in a peace zone either. Attacking them isn't impossible. Hurting them at all is.
I'll have to play through it again honestly since I haven't done sorcery since my first playthrough but I'm 90% sure all signs pointed to her being guilty which is why I was sad to kill Jerren
I disagree. There's a lot of signs that there are other people conspiring together in the academy for control over it, and she is just another one of their victims. As she is caught in the crossfire, and attempts to bring back the tradition of the primeval current. Which was made forbidden after the Carian Royals took over.

If you guys are talking about Sellen then yes she is guilty of heresy since she went past the mandates about dwelling into the secrets of glintstone sorcery and turning into a graven mass is one of the side-effects of that. Its the same reason why the miners in the crystal caves and tunnels have been so long exposed to glintstone magic that their bodies are covered in crystals over time.

That's not the argument being made. It's whether she was transforming OTHER people into graven masses. The practice of the primeval current does make you into something like a crystalian, but that takes a while. It's why she suddenly transformed into a graven mass out of the blue. When there was no excessive signs of crystallization, and she wasn't as far along as Azur and Lusat in that regard. She even just got a brand new body, and started fresh. It felt abrupt enough that it felt like somebody else did her in. Just after she successfully took over the academy. The effect is immediate upon rest. Which is not helped by the fact we know Azur definitely was transforming some of his students into graven masses, and we even find his staff at one such victim.

It's amazing we keep getting into slap fights about Elden Ring lore every day now :tupac

Like the lore must be some real good shit for it to keep happening again and again and again.

Chris got center stage cause he was the most likely to pick up the CoD audience 6 was looking for. Shame they had to bastardize the characters to try and make that a reality but at least we got Piers out of it
So Chris as he is today is an outdated relic from a dull fucking time in capcom's history? Even more reason he needs to step aside and let others get their time to shine again.

Speaking of I kinda hope we get a Bloodborne 2 or something like it again because it was one of the more unique titles Fromsoft made besides Sekiro.

Honestly think RE8 was way more egregious about the character assassination for Chris than 6 tbh

RE8 chris is a legit moron that even gets called out by his own squad.

As much as I hated how much of a dick he was to piers in 6 I kinda liked the PTSD angle they played with him and the payoff at the end of his campaign was great imo.

6 is still dookie doo doo as a game tho :russ
