Yeah that was confusing because, last I looked, it's pretty fucking well liked.
Actual underrated shows would be Digimon post-Tamers or Yugioh ZEXAL, shit like that.
Not in Japan. Zexal practically rivals the original Yugioh in popularity and as the most celebrated series, singlehandedly brought the series out of the slump it was facing towards the end of 5Ds by bringing in a whole slew of new fans into both the show and card game. Zexal related themes and merch still regularly sell like crazy even now, etc.

Even in the TCG, while the show is more divisive, the card game saw a notable rise in players getting into the game thanks to Xyz being a much more accessible mechanic compared to Synchro Summoning and all the popular archetypes released in Zexal’s time.

There’s a reason Xyz summoning was the most dominant mechanic for over half a decade. (2011-2017) and even now is still relevant.

By far the most successful overall mechanic Konami made. Links sort of rival it but haven’t been around as long and were designed with the simplicity and accessibility of Xyz anyway, and Synchros and especually Pendulum never were as big a hit safe for Synchro during the 5Ds era where it had no other competition anyway

Really expected Flame Wingman/Neos to be number one there, that IS shocking. They probably fell short because of the amount of side characters GX had who actually got duels as well, hence Judai didn't actually get as many as other protagonists.

Yuma and Utopia getting first place, I attribute largely to the fact that ZEXAL basically had no one outside of the main characters getting duels. Especially as Yuma still has more than his share of duels where he doesn't use Numbers at all let alone Utopia.

Also not counting movie and (seemingly) filler duels for Yugi is just a meh attempt to artificially keep him lower than he should because of the frankly stupid idea that duel writing quality drops the more the ace is overused. You don't need to do that shit.

Yeah, doesn’t help that while Jaden’s got more duels than any other protagonists, it’s an even split between several Hero decks he’s played throughout the series

Vs Yuma who basically just uses Utopia and it’s many variants for 99% of his duels

So bearing in mind this isn't counting tag duels or anything that's not 1v1 and is calling a win/streak over if a character gets a no result as well as a loss or a draw it ended up as:

1) Judai Yuki - 29 wins
2) Yuma Tsukumo - 12 wins
3) Yuya Sasaki - 11 wins
4) Yusei Fudo - 9 wins
5 and 6) Yugi Moto and Yuga Ohma - 8 wins
7) Playmaker - 7 wins

HOT DAMN Judai, you didn't need to wreck everybody that hard. :lfg

Though Yuma does have the distinction of his win streak still being on-going at the end of his series. Though it does make sense he got his at the end rather than the start or middle like most of the others since he was getting better throughout. :maybe

Black Clover being “underrated” is ridiculous too

Black Clover has a very small yet vocal group of haters who get loudly upset people refer to the series in anyway that doesn't somehow elevate MHA above it

It gives people the mistaken impression this is a widely help opinion (because that's how the internet works) and some BC fans have internalized it to the point they just always think of it as "the underdog of new Shonen" now

They need to make the Dragon Fist canon. It’s such a badass finisher.

Love to see Mastered UI Goku pull off some crazy OP version of this over that tacky Susano’o rip-off

And the new Sparking Zero BETTER keep this as Super Saiyan 3 Goku’s Ultimate like in BT3

I absolutely hated how Raging Blast replaced it with the lame “True Kamehameha” for SS3 Goku’s Ultimate instead

Fucking Volcanics and their burn bullshit
:heston
Didn't help that Haou stuck with the far more limited Evil Heroes. If he'd gone all out and used everything, Austin would have gotten wrecked hard.

At the very least there needed to be a lot more evil hero versions of the other cards like Neos and stuff.
