Circus of Humorous & Humiliating Arguments Part 5: Diamonds are fleeting. Stupid lasts forever

What's the problem pax :mhm
baseline universal is probably not cutting it due to HooH (and maybe Xipe)

the 1 Emanator we know of from the Equilibrium Missions he has is also arguably universal

the main cast is obviously not close to that level though

On the note of the general military wank that Spacebattles likes to do a lot: it's bullshit. Which comes as to no surprise, but I'm not talking about the "US Military beats Goku" stuff, I'm talking about the hyper competence that SB likes to pin on the military. Because if there's one thing I've learned about surrounding myself with friends in the military, while living in a military town, it's that there's a lot of dumb people in the military. We just get carried by a small handful of guys. Most of our equipment isn't even what SB likes to wank it as. Military-grade gear doesn't mean you're suddenly Master Chief, it means your stuff is just good enough to work, but usually not that much better than what's at Walmart. The actual good shit rarely gets used because it's too damn expensive so we mostly just settle with the cheap shit.

It's still cool though.
To be fair, SB is mainly talking about those guys in the debate (there’s actually a lot of competent people in the military, much more than just a handful)

may or may not comment on the match proper later, but I want to quickly throw in that this is like... severely out of context.

Manhattan does "recreate the DC multiverse", but he doesn't do this by literally ripping it all apart and putting it back together. He does this by just changing the date Superman lands on Earth, such that all timelines that diverge from the mainline DC universe are shifted to accommodate that. He then goes on to explain that this is the method behind every previous Crisis and N52.

If anyone is getting big cosmic hype here it'd be Superman lol. The whole of Doomsday Clock is about how he's the meta-linchpin of DC canon, and that everything revolves about him.

These people have never played 3.5.

"Oh but isn't this just specific cases of rules bending so it shouldn't count-" This shit happened ALL the time. Wizards of the Coast, a trading card company, changed D&D around this time to be more like their card game, which meant that making characters was meant to be more like building a deck. Making overpowered characters was a fundamental, intentional design choice. Were there options intentionally designed to be worse than others? Of course, they did so because it made players feel smarter for not choosing deliberately bad options. Was it stupid? Of course, bad decisions and D&D go hand-in-hand. Plot twist: it happens enough times that I can say that I don't actually like D&D all that much, believe it or not. But that's the way it is.

Then again Spacebattles is made up of people who think that 9mm pistols are death lasers that can kill anything and everything and that Godzilla not dying to the military is just him being wanked, these are both things that users of that site have said in the past. So really I just wasted my time posting all of this, and to that I have to say: you got me.

Are you referring to the guy whose post I share didn't play 3.5 or are you referring to the people the post are criticizing? Because I dont play dnd 3.5 myself your post is lost to me

🤔
I will never get “layers of reality>fiction transcendence” the whole point of their new system was this was a thing that can’t be measured by any kind of math, so why are you counting it????

Unicron sleeps through this

its kind of amazing to me how they sort of reached something as a high standard that i actually think kind of makes sense (r>f transcendence) but then just had to fucking slap a number onto it and essentially turn it into dimensional tiering but worse

how do they do it

yeah pretty much
if you’re going to do this then all the characters qualifying for that tier probably just have to be equal, you really can’t differentiate something like this

Use hydra poison and kill the concept of Antithesis
I'm gonna say this and while it may not apply to Uryu, you shouldn't act like Hydra Venom is the end all, be all of abilities and shit.
Like would it work on the Anti-Thesis? Sure as it can work on the Greek Gods of the Nasuverse and no one in Bleach is at that level... unless Kubo does genuinely wank Soul King Yhwach that high(fat chance).

Besides, Alcides can also just steal The Anti-Thesis entirely so Hydra Venom isn't the only thing that can basically screw over Uryu

It's funny it never comes up according to SB though despite the fact that we now know officially that Reincarnation Pandora isn't exclusive to Noble Phantasms in the slightest.
