Circus of Humorous & Humiliating Arguments Part 5: Diamonds are fleeting. Stupid lasts forever

Helck is peak, 10/10, though I was hesitant to read it initially. Most reviews gave it an above average rating and bitch that the ending is series of Deus ex machina. Upon reading it however... what about the Deus ex machina's that were the series of last bosses at the end? If the bad guys got plot armour, why shouldn't the good have too? Why complain that magic that was foreshadowed nearly 50 chaps ago could solve the problem? (talking about that yggdrasil moss thing here).

People mistake grimderp as good too much these days. If they want a bittersweet or tragic ending, go read Hamitsu's works or 'SexuallyVictimedSaw man' or something.

I liked the show well enough, but I think I was in high school when I watched it and the finer details are probably long gone for me now lol, didn't watch any of the movies though.

I don't know where this guy is getting "High 1A+" Madoka though as that was never even in the conversation on VSB to begin with
Same. Watched it during high school, about a year after it came out I think.

I watched Elfen Lied and End of Evangelion by the time I was in middle school, so that one episode of Mami getting a head shorter from her fight with a Witch didn’t phase me much.

And that’s not even talking about it’s more or less shit canned status, with even the ongoing web novel it survives by basically cancelled from Masada losing interest in it
Nah this is not a thing. What happened was he put 1 title (Aditya) into hiatus because he underestimated how big it was getting in the middle of volume 2. And because it's a pretty important prequel to basically every other titles past and future, he deemed it necessary to finish every other Shinza titles first before properly tackling it. He jumped the gun way too early for Aditya, essentially.

Considering the project is still consistently making about 4-5 million yen per month, the franchise is still pretty much alive and kicking.

All I know from seeing recent discussion threads is entire months going by and the author releasing little more than small info dumps that barely count as chapters and whatever story moving at a snail’s pace as a result.

:wow

Eh Gladiators would fare worse than a Roman Legion since they are not armored and armed for actual battle and are not trained to fight as a unit like real soldiers in the case of Roman Legionnaires.
That depends on the category.

Pure Gladiators excelled in fighting humans, they did also participate in large scale fights like the flooded colosseum. Some subcategories definitely do know how to fight as a unit.
Venatores (I think that is the plural?) fought animals, not something as harmless as a Gorilla but large felines. Do I need to elaborate what happens when you put them in full equipment? And yes there are subcategories here aswell, those who were sentenced to death and those which did it as their 9-5 job.

We are just nitpicking now though, it really doesn't matter which army we are taking here, they'd all smash.

Destiny actually has multiversal feats. It's how far into multiversal they are, that's in contention.

Kratos' actual showings are what? Continental
I thought Destiny was just a decently good extent of universal and multiversal. But I think them being anything above 2-A or Low 1-C is bullshit.

Kratos based on lore is universal at best apparently, on visual presentation of feats, ridiculously lower than that? Motherfuckers be wanking Kratos to multiversal level.

So I guess GoW wank is worse?

They excelled in 1v1, not in fighting as a coordinated group, in general they were meant to fight in a single match and even as a group they were mostly meant to "Show off" and make the fight look entertaining hence the "Roman era wrestling" thing I mentioned they would sometimes prolong the fight by not killing right off the bat or even at all. Plus their armor and weapons were not made with an actual fight in mind hence the obvious gaps in armor and impracticalityof their weapons when brought against an actual military unit.

Well yeah they are better off than an unarmed or unarmored regular human, just not on par with an actual Roman Legion.

Agreed.

The gore wasn’t really the point

More that this child that has been in the middle of regaining hope was cut down after the door to that hope got viscerally slammed back into her face hard enough to take her head rolling.

People hyping up the shock were missing the point of the emotions they’re trying to hit you with :hm

Kind of the same with Eva. The brutality is setting dressing, the psychological unraveling was the point of End of Eva. Also a fuck you at the overzealous fans and culture Anno unwittingly started with his IP.

Then again, I’m the type to care excessively about strangers, let alone getting needled by named character trauma :maybe

So now the question is whose wankers show up more often or wank harder?

Kratos/Gow tards or Oryx/Destiny tards?
Kratos, Im a massive fan of all god of war games and getting anything close to universal requires very, very selective reading of the material. Specifically Im pretty sure most of it comes down to an explanation in god of war 1 where kronos/another titan got punched and created the stars in the sky and kratos getting scaled to that.

It was the Primordials

And take it with a grain of salt in a setting where the Sun is just a floating building and the entire Greek “world” created by the Primordials literally giving up entire body parts to make is just a narrow strip of land held up over the actual Earth by Mt. Olympus

It’s not just the overall feats that suck. GoW regularly shoots itself in the foot for anything operating on a cosmological scale
