Yeah I was like "shit it's really X???"

Honestly as I was reading through your first two days I went I thinking my paranoia would get the best of me but everything was just so townie I was struggling to to get to a scum read even when looking for possible angles. Glad The Supreme Alliance basically carried this game, Ultra primarily of course.
Haha yeah and I like no way Ratchet played like this as wolf. I was slightly worried when you started reading my posts again that maybe you were wolf and would come back with saying I was wolf, so you could F3 with Alco. But then you kept saying how townie I was and I was like, yeah he's got to be town.

TSA for the dub, Ultra for MVP.

You're welcome town

:dumbpepe
Really sorry you didn't get the win - excellent game Ultra. I actually think you maybe town-aided too hard as an Indie but that isn't to take away from your scum hunting this game. I really wish we had lynched Dalton/Sky over Lethal that day, it was right there for us to do too. I think it just goes to show that wins/losses aren't something you can use as a barometer of skill and that you need to be able to enjoy Mafia independent of it - you not winning this game leaves a sour taste for me.

Biggest disappointment for me is Ultra not winning when we could have lynched Dalton at no cost to town

No my kill was on Ekko, scum got Hime
I'm thankful for the shot - I think I lynch you anyway because I came out of the day thinking you were Indie, but Ekko was going to get himself lynched either after you or possibly even before.

Darkest Dungeon Mafia - Epilogue

(Sorry X, Bonnie had to run back to Darkest Dungeon II)

Final Roles

Bonnie, the Runaway
1x Hider, 1x Paranoid Arsonist, Pyromaniac

Congratulations, you are Bonnie, the Runaway, The Hamlet Aligned!

Orphaned at a young age, you have experienced a lifetime of abuse and trauma. Adept at surviving on the run, you have found solace in an unlikely ally: Fire. Though not connected to the Hamlet directly, you have answered the call!

In this game, you have the following roles:

- 1x Hider (You may target a player at night and hide behind them. If they die, you will die also. You yourself will be untargetable. If your target investigates as anything other than Hamlet Aligned, you will die)
- 1x Paranoid Arsonist (You may set a trap - anybody visiting you will be ignited and will require healing, else they will die at the end of the following night phase)
- Pyromaniac (Fire provides you with a source of comfort - any time a player is said to be ignited, you will heal 1 pip of stress)

You win when all threats to the Hamlet are eliminated.

Reynauld, the Crusader
2x Non-consecutive Watcher, 2x Inspiring Speech

Congratulations, you are Reynauld, the Crusader, The Hamlet Aligned!

No matter the pressures he faces he will remain strong, finding strength within himself to keep fighting on while inspiring others to do the same.

You are a determined warrior and servant of the light, and will look to safeguard your allies against the threat of the encroaching darkness. Protecting them through word and deed, you are an erstwhile ally!

In this game you have the following roles:

- 2x Non-consecutive Watcher (You may target a player at night and learn who, if anyone, they were targeted by)
- 2x Inspiring Speech (You may target a player and harden their resolve – if they are driven to affliction whilst you yourself live, they will instead overcome their inner demons, resulting in powerful effects ... (This will provide a contextual buff to that player))

You win when all threats to the Hamlet are eliminated.

Sarmenti, the Jester
Inspiring Tune, Battle Ballad

Congratulations, you are Sarmenti, the Jester, The Hamlet Aligned!

"He will be laughing still... at the end"

Driven into a murderous rage by the mockery you received as a musician, you stood laughing a mirthless laugh as the gathered crowd bled to death for the vicious wounds you had inflicted upon them … you didn’t flinch even as you severed your own pinky finger, representing the end of the bargain you had made with whichever force had granted your talent … Your sanity restored, you are here to ensure that no matter how dark the situation you now face, laughter will echo through the halls …

In this game, you have the following roles:

- Inspiring Tune (You may target a player at night and heal 1 pip of stress)
- Battle Ballad (You may target a player at night and apply the Haste status to them – their next night action will resolve prior to any other (Observation roles will still receive results. This will also remove any time-gating from the role)

You may only play one tune per evening.

You win when all threats to the Hamlet are eliminated.

Damian, the Flagellant
3x Suffer, Rapture

Darkest-Dungeon-Flagellant-Cover.jpg

Congratulations, you are Damian, the Flagellant, The Hamlet Aligned!

If there was ever such a thing as ‘weaponized suffering’, then the Flagellant would be the term made flesh.

Where others would balk at the psychical and mental anguish your task would entail, you embrace it with a zeal bordering on unsettling. The closer you are pushed the death, the more dangerous you become …

In this game, you have the following roles:

- 3x Suffer (You may target a player at night and remove a pip of stress, and add one to yourself)
- Rapture (Unlike most characters, stress and punishment only make you stronger. If at any time you have 4 or more pips of stress, you will benefit from 1x Bulletproof. If you ever reach maximum stress, you will gain the Beloved modifier (+1 vote to lynch), but at the beginning of each subsequent day phase, you will gain a stack of the Hated modifier (-1 vote to lynch). This debuff will continuously stack for the rest of the game. If it ever requires 0 votes to lynch you, you will suffer a heart attack and die. You are immune to the regular effects of affliction)

You win when all threats to the Hamlet are eliminated.

Thanks.

You'll see my thought process a bit in dead chat, but basically I didn't quite mean to town side super hard, but it ended up that way. I was aggressively pressing for claims, got to massclaim by about Day 3

But my target was afk, so when pruning claims, I kept turning up scum. Dalton got cleared as non-scum by angleshooting, and Sky getting subbed during the latter half of the day while I slept - I basically got cosmically screwed, but I had a lot of fun

Ultimately I didn't matter what I did because I was getting killed by literally the only role that could still kill me that same Night

Biggest disappointment for me is Ultra not winning when we could have lynched Dalton at no cost to town

I was debating showing my hand and claiming but I was very vulnerable, basically I was 75% sure it was Dalton but in the case it was Lethal I could auto lose by getting cursed. Probably should have done it anyway, but went to bed with Dalton at -1, figured I had it in the bag. lol

Awards & Closing Thoughts

The Positives

The vast majority of players really put in the effort here, and I do believe the overriding feeling from this game is one of satisfaction for the most part. Aside from a few minor quibbles I'll address, I'm very happy with this game on a balance, mechanical and execution standpoint. Because of the landslide at the start of the game, the stress mechanic didn't completely apply the pressure it could have (and in fact directly led to the takedown of the Countess, which I marked for lmao), but this wasn't really that detrimental - town deserved to feel relatively in control and unflustered, as the game should be.

The Negatives

The scum faction went down like a sack of potatoes through a variety of botches, absenteeism, poor decision making and inspired town play from an Indy. This can happen (I've been rolled like this as scum myself before, just have to laugh and move on). The bigger issue was the obvious one - if youre going to sign up for a game, and I appreciate hosts will tag looking for players etc, but once you sign, you need to respect the other players and the host enough to not just vanish and hold the game hostage. If you dont want to play, or cant play, fine, not ideal but we move. Radio silence isnt acceptable.

Botches

- I hadn't updated CPs PM, I reduced his framer shots from 2 to 1 but didn't tighten it up
- Stress count botch with Hime
- I called night 4 prematurely - Full disclosure, hime approached me and said shed have used her Take Aim just in case, however in my notes I had her down as out of shots, so disregarded her in the actions log. As Take Aim was free with no opportunity cost or cooldown, I allowed her to proceed as if she had the buff as it was reasonable for me to assume she would have done this. Not ideal, but I dont think anybody can complain here.
- The day 2 vote/duel count was an absolute clusterfuck - I was completely tilted from work and trying to catch up on 60 pages of gameplay while the thread rages on in a direction it shouldnt have been wasn't ideal either.
- I should have made it clear that X had a stress heal night 2 from seeing Flower burnt at the stake.
