I mean, the entire ending was them practically apologizing for the result, and there was no context behind the alternate ending beyond "what if"
So they know the result is wrong but went with it to let Kratos save face
It was basically SvG 2 all over again

I did notice they didn't even try to animate Kratos keeping up with Asura in movement (despite claiming their speed was equivalent) and just had him kinda stand there throwing shit at Asura

haIn all seriousness though, I do agree. That was garbage. Should've at least made Wanktos work for it more, instead of doing that. Just made Asura look like a jobber there.
