They're both royalty of a warrior race, started out boastful but eventually learned humility to a degree, and wield godly power.
i think by their rules it requires outside help since Alternity Megs is him fused with Hytherion, not evolved the normal way like the other Alternity transformers
There's still Super Megatron and Golden Megatron but Gold in particular is kind of obscure and I wouldn't expect them to use it

Y'know at this point they might as well use whatever buffs he needs (like when they gave Thanos the gauntlet or Lex the Superman program buff or even the vbw universe+ level wankage for almost every transformers character) because from what I'm seeing (and granted my Transformers knowledge is limited) Megatron otherwise is only City-Large Planet level. Or again (and I know people hate recycling characters or comic characters or even worse recycling comic characters) but Frieza might as well be pit against another alien conquering despot that's closer to his level ala: Mongul, Sinestro, Thanos etc.
they pretty much have to use at least super Megatron or it won't be fair at all but I'm scared they'll use Quora and formerly VSB's terrible scaling for IDW to get him to universal and make that a widespread thing

G1 Cartoon: large planet level from surviving a bomb that knocked Cybertron out of orbit
G1 comic: no clue
Unicron Trilogy: galaxy level by the time of Cybertron due to the funpub comics boosting Vector's lower selves to that level, and Megatron can fight him evenly
TFA: city to island level or higher, survived a bomb that would've destroyed everything for 100 miles iirc
TFP: iirc city level scaling to Optimus tanking a laser that'd melt ice caps
IDW: continental to possibly moon level with Anti Matter. Would've been able to destroy half a planet, however said planet was hollow.
I don't know much about japanese continuity other than that Super Megatron is Star Convoy's equal, and SC literally had the Zodiac/Silver Matrix which is the power of the big bang.
Golden Megatron had multiple silver matrices and some power from The One so he's at least multiversal. He claimed to be even higher but that's probably just hype

Mongul appears is the main villain of one of Superman's most famous stories (For the Man who has Everything). He is also responsible for the destruction of Coast City which would be the driving force for Zero Hour and Parallax. He is a pretty major villain and a legitimately good matchup for Freeza thematically. Problem is it's another free victory for DC given the dumb stats DB gives.
