Tbh he didn't need it, most of the stuff that he's done was without the god Spawn power up. He can't even do that without eating the apple. They gave it to him just for cooler animation stuff

couldnt remember all what happened in the fight between GR and Mephisto
look it up
it was the female ghost rider
Mephisto was dog walking GR the entire fight, not even using his true power just fucking around
went for a killing blow but got blocked
GR took this chance to steal his heart out of his chest
didnt kill mephisto yet, was going to destroy his heart which would kill him and erase hell
gets shot in the head by johnny and immediately depowered back to normal

Realistically. I know Shigaraki “should” win. But he fucking sucks so I would be happy with him losing to Mahito to be honest. MHA as a whole sucks (especially towards the end), but Shiggy in particular feels like an even shittier version of Kylo Ren who I already disliked.

Would also actually be really funny if two winners in a row were weaker but won due to hax + survivability
