like i'm very sorry this happened, genuinely, but this has nothing to do with the game at hand. the argument was never about "she doesn't try to play as scum." it was about "she doesn't try to play without resorting to emotionally manipulative tactics to gain the upperhand or wear others down so people read her as town."
i'm glad you played and stuck with it in the past.
but it is not a point in anyone's favor. it has nothing to do with anything. when irl gets bad for me, i play and get deeply invested. some others do too. sometimes i don't. it's entirely mood and energy dependent. every individual is different.
mentioning these tragic events from your life doesn't do anything. it just tells us you're capable of powering through and being motivated despite your circumstances. many other people can do this, too. you are not an exception when it comes to this.
if i were to say, without prompting, "my dog died", how would this make you feel? would you reaction to simply be to play the game and hound someone when they drop this bomb? or would it make you reconsider your position and read of me? would you be a little hesitant that i'd share this in a game where i'm being heavily suspected?
compared to simply saying: "im really trying to play this game but im struggling irl so bear with me. here are my thoughts on X, Y and Z and why Z is probably the scummiest." most likely, you'd give me some sympathy and leeway but wouldn't completely drop your read on me. do you understand?
