Would recommend either 4 or 5 since they have the best gameplay in the series. 4 has a pretty nuts level of customization and it also has the most labyrinths since they added mini dungeons that you can explore for items and exp. pretty great experience overall and it has my favorite class in the franchise
The untold games are also very very good and the story mode parties are really fucking strong

sounds stupid but i decided long ago if i was to play it i’d play it on a legit cart on the snes
i haven’t came across one at a price and condition i like
having this mindset costs me way too much money in the long haul but emulation just doesn’t feel the same in my mind
you are going to have a hard time playing most of the games on my list then, barring the ones they made remakes for or rereleased.
