Game Ranked I Think You Should Leave - A Mafia Game by Sky

Juicy controversy (pun not originally intended)

Previous game she was in, no one (barring it benefitting scum) objected to a lynch on Penguin. Now, I can give certain posters the benefit of the doubt where they learned the "NAI" lesson (that Sky herself presented) but with the split, I imagined there would be more consensus due to past history.

Is it because it's too easy to sus out of a scum agenda in a Penguin wagon or something else at play here (protecting and diverting a potential Penguin wagon)?

I find it interesting the tone surrounding her slot is being dealt with more scrutiny and critical observation and hesitancy over scum control.

Posters like RDK have no qualms which is exactly what I'd expect (so I'm leaning on more town vibes from him.) The fact there's some minor pushback is interesting after the consensus last game due to the negative attention on her slot and the bad habits that people in general wanted to avoid having to analyze.

Why is it that this game people (unlike myself) are erring on the side of caution and being more realistic about a 50/50 chance of being either alignment instead of betting on something like a 60/40 chance of her being scum?

Is it just too easy?

Day 1s with players like Ultra in the ring are harder to gain traction. Why isn't it that scum isn't blatantly taking advantage of this wagon, unless they may not be?

I'm excluding the "there's bigger fish to fry" - I'm more interested on the massive change in tone when fixating on this slot itself and lack of consensus on it. There were no qualms last time with town/players that were townread. What changed here? LHF this game, or a subject not worth lynching?

I just feel it‘s more policy than actual scum reading her. And it‘s just like with the outed Indie D1 in the MU Mash recently. It‘s not spicy. If people really want her out I won‘t get in the way, but it‘s just lame.

Frinck gets a harder town lean

Unless he's playing the long game

Now I find it far more realistic that most would solve his slot through other means and adjust how they deal with him compared to the stark contract with Penguin where the majority can't be assed

Lack of people wanting a Penguin lynch I don't buy, given the constant fatigue and rough housing

It's interesting, is all

I presume scum doesn't want to get their hands on the wagon for whatever reason, but it's stuck out to me the most

To elaborate on the MU game. Some guy claimed Indie D1 and everyone had an excuse to just pile on his wagon. I stopped it and told people to move elsewhere because that wagon presented a lazy option which produced nothing good for Town. Same feeling I get for the Penguin wagon.

You're one of the players where I expected you not to view the lynch as a lame copout and actually beneficial regardless because of the spite votes and having difficulties differentiating from her scumplay vs townplays

Noting I still townread you, but the way posters like you are handling the slot by agreeing it's an easy out is spicy to me

I would feel most here would not be phased at all over voting her period. If I were to compare it to last game, I expected more people like RDK happily lynching her without looking back. My expectations were thrown into a curveball. I'm trying to see what this means, but I won't get it this phase.

I mean, we have Hime vs Ultra (+RDK) vs CP to deal with which seems a lot better as a direction than a D1 policy lynch.

If someone could actually articulate a case on someone I might be swayed but so far no one has really done much of anything except chest pounding

Did you pushback on the Penguin wagon?

Here's the issue, if there's players that you (and everyone else) gives more lenience to that's different from a player that is notoriously known to cause havoc because of previous interactions that have muddied the waters with most players vs someone like Aurelian who people are more willing to allow the slot to self-resolve.

Basically, if you didn't find whatever dude's wagon you diverted and encouraged others to think over more, it implies you don't have any longstanding issues with the player. With the user base, no one here usually tends to care about resolving a slot like hers. Everyone is usually happy to lynch Penguin compared to someone like Fang (where there's pushback.)

There's longstanding issues with Penguin in particular and controversies trying to dissect her play.

Do you believe that in the future most here would view her as NAI, then? Did something evolve here like you've evolved by trying to be more logical and holding back your frustration (you're doing a good job and sticking to it, I'm proud)?

Do you think it's that scum doesn't want to go for an easy lynch and be held accountable for a town mislynch or do you think there's a reason her wagon has a harder time gaining traction this game? What would be that reason?

Let's do a thought exercise.

Would it ring alarm bells for you if RDK went out of his way to express a Penguin lynch is a bad move (in a bizarro world) he'd give a slot like this a chance to live?
