The excuse is "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism" as they're still forced to live in capitalist society, except...that's nonsense as demonstated by their own actions. It's that shit that gets me too. People want to go about how "Capitalism is evil" but they still buy iPhones, Nikes, and even shirts and pants which comes from sweat shops.
As you stated, Disney and Hershies(Though I'm not sure it's them) support China and thus their Genocides of the Uighur Muslims. They eat obvious foods and vegetables which also come from factories that overwork their workers.
Even the video games we play come from consistently bad but ultimately normal business practices.
It's even dumber when you realize that these fuckers are rich or successful BECAUSE of capitalism... because communism and socialism makes it genuinely impossible to ever be successful or create something due to the nature of how they work.
It's one thing to be forced to live in a society in which corporations do evil stuff, and you have to get food and petrol which no doubt came from some injustice. But here's the thing...Iphones and PlayStation 5's aren't necessities. If you need a phone, you can buy one which isn't from Apple. It might not be as fancy, but likely it'll involve less child abuse (said companies may still unfortunately still perform attrocities, but some megacolglomerates are slightly less evil than others).
Also in the case of food, you can always buy local. It might be a bit more expensive but I doubt local farmers and butchers would be mowing down the Amazon or uzing oragnutans for fun.
It just reeks of hypocrisy and first world problems.
Wasn't Twitter always owned by billionaire assholes? I remember tons of "this is my last" tweet from people who never left Twitter in the end. Also bitches through Twitter, which is owned by Elon Musk whose quite the transphobic, white supremacist these days according to crying Libs that still use his site anyway
Anyway now we're getting political.
