Answer (1 of 1528): Sorry, but this is NOT his fault… . As a father to two sons (12 & 10), I sometimes have similar issues. But, destructive outbursts are NEVER the best way to solve any issues. Imagine actually posting this question, admitting to overreacting to your son having a console on at that hour and flushing several hundred dollars down the toilet by breaking it in a rage, instead of just taking it away from him until he earns it back, and then having the gall to suggest it was all his fault that the console was broken, when you're the adult in the room, and he's the child, and you are the one who flew off the handle, and then ask others how you can explain to the child that something that was mostly the parent's fault, is actually their fault instead.
