Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 3

I'm actually fortunate enough to own this one (found it in the crawl space after thinking it was either lost in a flood or sold by my parents when I was much younger). Need to submit it to the CGC for grading though. Looks vaguely like a 4.0 to me, but I can hardly say I know much about grading. Mostly just commenting based one what others of the same book look like around that grade :hm

Any rate?

Thinking this'll be a once or twice a week thing until I get in the groove of being a doctoral student :hm

Might not be at all some weeks depending on how busy midterms and finals are~

Gonna overhaul the "Best Feats" thing I'm doing later. Too many feats are just "Spider-Man matches attack from someone that scales to his best strength feat" in the strength category for example.

Think the biggest pain of this is having to write the labels and organize shit :hm

Would like to continue that "best feats" counter list, but I think I'll drive myself crazier trying to continue as organizing my thoughts like this is already a nightmare for someone as disorganized as me :maybe

I actually covered that same issue in my FF thread, since I was covering the Human Torch stories. I think I even calced Spider-Man;s speed catching the Fox there.

Sounds right, I'm just following an excel file about the chronological order of Spidey's continuity myself here (wish it were more current, but I'm hardly going to catch up to 2021 any time soon :maybe). Next should be issue 5 and 6. Then I start on posting Untold Tales of Spider-Man.

If you were to take Johnny at face value about Peter being the fastest he's seen from this issue, who would function as scaling fodder up to this annual? :hm

I think the cement mixer feat is probably worth a look, if only because the sheer velocity he'd be shooting the cement at Johnny at was pretty ridiculous to achieve. Pretty sure cement mixers aren't fucking cannons :skully

Same issue has him stymied by super-glue though, so that's neat too Stan Lee.

Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 5

Peter Parker/Spider-Man

>Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 5 pages 17: Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom has some kind of "disintegrating bolts" that he believes Peter Parker/Spider-Man has "no defense" against. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is strong enough to break from of Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's robot's grip and toss him into Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom which he endures.
>Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 5 pages 17: Peter Parker/Spider-Man is strong enough to lift and toss Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's magnetic satellite machine. Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's "disintegrating bolts" are strong enough to instantly vaporize the thrown metal satellite machine.
>Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 5 page 18: Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom is fast enough to grab Peter Parker/Spider-Man and his physical might is beyond Peter Parker/Spider-Man's and he appears as if tireless. Despite this, Peter Parker/Spider-Man is able to use "every bit of power contained in a super-human body" in order to save himself and shut off Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's "disintegrating bolts."

>Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 5 page 6: Peter Parker/Spider-Man is fast enough to prevent himself from falling down a "corny trap-door"
>Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 5 page 6: Peter Parker/Spider-Man is fast enough to dodge and escape Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's "miniature finger-gun" attacks that scorch the floor and leave vapor/smoke rising from the point of impact. Peter Parker/Spider-Man may be implying his Spider Sense warned him of the impending attack "seconds ago."
>Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 5 page 7: Peter Parker/Spider-Man is fast enough to leap away from an exploding building after the detonation begins.
>Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 5 pages 13: Peter Parker/Spider-Man is fast enough to avoid more of Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's "miniature finger-gun" projectiles.

>Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 5 pages 15: Peter Parker/Spider-Man is fast enough to avoid the activation of Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's heat rays of liquid heat that are "shootin' up from the floorboards"
>Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 5 page 17: Peter Parker/Spider-Man is fast enough to dive past the bolts of the "disintegrating bolts."

>Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 5 page 3-4: Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom knows how to use a Spider in order to "transmit a message to Spider-Man using his own wavelength" and built some amplifying device to do so. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is able to sense the message with his Spider Sense despite being far away in his room in Aunt May's home. Peter Parker/Spider-Man uses his Spider Sense to follow this impulse back to Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's location.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man appears to be able to consciously choose a target for his Spider Sense to hone in on? He only seems to need Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's "hostile emanations" to sense him in an abandoned factory while swinging above it.
>Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 5 pages 14: Peter Parker/Spider-Man's Spider Sense alerts him to Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom's flash freezing liquid trap being released on top of him. Peter Parker/Spider-Man uses his webbing to spin a shield to defend himself from the hazardous matter.
