If you're town and he's scum it gives you a sense of safety as long as ratchet has your back and is more likely to make you think he's town too. On top of that if you are town and you feel he often town reads you right it's an easy connection to make in your head that he's town too and, as you put it, just found an easy town read to start the game off.

All of this is something that hasn't actually happened though, which means you're pre-empting it. Why?

How on earth is that what you took from his post? He said Melkor would be an example of someone who was, in this context, plausibly buddying. What does that have to do with meta?

you town read him based on meta of what he wouldn't do as town vs what he might do as scum. the stuff you talked about is specific to mango and what he might do as each alignment.

there's no reason to assume the same things he might do as town/might do as scum would straight up be applicable to melkor too. hence the question

Your question makes no sense because that's not what Mango was saying, I just explained this to you in the post you quoted and you still are repeating otherwise - do you want to try this again?

Scum have a habit of announcing pointless periods where they won't be present or excuses for not playing up to par(not saying town never does this but it's more typical of scum). They'll announce they're going to be away but not to worry because they'll be productive upon arrival! It's pre-emptively defending themselves as their sole motive is to survive.

I'd say ratchet's method was far more likely a pocketing attempt than melkor just saying I'm town considering he stated he's the expert on you. The difference between calling somebody town, voting somebody their voting, and not commenting on anything to do with the slot you're voting while also not saying you're actually sheeping the person, not explaining the vote at all and just sheeping a town read while at the same time still trying to generate content is very different. In addition to that, Melkors first post was 100%, undeniably bad. He's assuming that people are going to be busing just from the numbers, which is just. not how busing / the game works in general.

Are you casing Ratchet in additon to that, or just defending Melkor? This reads like both but at the same time you never say anything definitively, also you're not voting Ratchet here despite presuminably casing them quite hard.

You're losing me man, it was quite simple, Melkor's post would appear more to be "buddying", it was a post that was an example of how LM post came across versus what I was doing.
