A dimensional crack appears like the time hole used by the Waruder Army. From this crack Gridman appears (he is 70m tall).

Somehow above the base, a dimension crack appeared like the Time Hole (タイム・ホール, Taimu Hōru) used by the Waruder Army (ワルダー軍団, Warudā Gundan) once for an ambush.

Additionally the next moment, "something giant" popped out from the other side of the crack as if it was kicked out!

"Is that...... a giant!?"

Indeed, what jumped into the surprised Hikari's eyes──was the appearance of a super gigantic humanoid with a red-based body, wearing a set of Western-looking armor, his whole body appeared to shrouded in light and his full height is around 70 meters.

Gridman is an energy life-form, who's mass can't be measured.

"High energy reaction detected! The mass.......cannot be measured! It seems to be some kind of an energy life form!"

"Then, is it the size of a living beam that hits a scientific research base directly?

Gridman turns into particles of light and enters the scientific research base to enter Hikari's dreams.

Then, the appearance of the giant humanoid gradually becomes vague──eventually, it vanishes as if it were a mirage.

However, none of the Diaclone members who participated in the attack noticed──that the giant humanoid turn into particles of light and goes into the remains of a scientific research base──heading to Hikari, who is gradually losing consciousness──.

The attacking kaiju transformed from Planet Waruder.

"I am Gridman the Hyper Agent. A Kaiju that transformed from Planet Waruder is currently approaching the Earth. I would like to request your cooperation."

Gridman? Hyper Agent? Moreover, the Planet Waruder has become a Kaiju? Hikari becomes increasingly confused and bewildered by the situation.

Planet Waruder went through a gravitational collapse due to Freezon Energy.

Indeed, Hikari and the Diaclone Team have no way of knowing it, due to the Operation: Ragnarok (オペレーション　ラグナロク, Operēshon Ragunaroku), Planet Waruder went through a gravitational collapse due to the Freezon Energy (フリーゾンエネルギー, Furīzon Enerugī) getting out of control!

The monster is composed of the Super Wave Freezon Quantum and residual thoughts of the Alien Waruder into a monster with the attributes of a blackhole. The kaiju jumps through dimensions with the ultimate goal of robbing Freezon Energy by performing a warp on Earth. However, due to the dimensional vibrations that happened as a result of crossing into the Multiverse, an unprecedented crisis has begun to occur. The gravitationally collapse in Planet Waruder supposedly becomes a black hole, but the Super Wave Freezon Quantum (超波動フリーゾン量子, Chō Hadō Furīzon Ryōshi) and the residual thoughts of Alien Waruder combined into a terrifying energy creature with the attributes of a black hole──in other words, it transformed into a "Kaiju".

Soon the monster will use the ability to jump into dimensions to fulfill the Alien Waruders' unattained goal in robbing Freezon Energy by performing a dimensional warp on Earth.

Moreover, due to the dimensional vibration that happened as a result of crossing into the multiverse, an unprecedented crisis has begun to occur.

Therefore to solve this, Gridman came from the Hyper World with a special mission heading for the monster subjugation, but──no matter how many times he injure the monster, it was an extraordinary powerful enemy that instantly revived by regenerating damaged parts through the dimensional wave vibration oscillated by the Super Wave Freezon Quantum that forms the basis of the body.

Gridman is exhausted from his battles with the kaiju, and after being hit by a blow that tears through the fabric of dimensions, is thrown out onto the Moon.

And Gridman's power was exhausted to the limit in long and harsh battles within the extradimensional space──additionally, he suffered from a strong blow that tore the fabric of dimension and was thrown out to the moon where Hikari was in.

Gridman has no phsyical form existing as pure energy, and has to combine with someone to gain one (this is due to Gridman's nature, and the side effects of the 'multiverse crossing phenomenon').

"I'm sorry for putting you in danger......but I am just an immaterial energy in this world. That's why I need your help. With your body and the kind heart that loves peace ...... the power of that heart!"

When the scientific research base collapsed, his line of sight met Hikari's──it arrived at Gridman. Glittering behind Hikari's eyes are a fiery courage and passion and a gentle heart that loves peace!

Due to the side effect of the multiverse crossing phenomenon brought about by the Kaiju, Gridman appeared in Hikari's world and as an energy being, he needs a partner to fully materialize.

Even if Gridman materializing with Hikari were to restore his full power, his chances of winning against the monster would be slim.

The whole body is covered with a hard black exodermis, glowing blue sphere-like eyeballs sprinkled everywhere, thick and strong legs and tail like a dinosaur, both arms appear like terrifying insects, its mouth has sharp fangs and the head has a pair of horns facing opposite directions, it's a giant Kaiju with a grotesque appearance.

The giant Kaiju has materialized in Hikari's world due to the side effect of the dimensional crossing phenomenon that it brought about.

Thus the giant Kaiju land on the ground and start marching forward to destroy the city in search for the Freezon Energy──it deploys numerous dimensional gates around its body to transfer the underground pipelines to itself and devour the Freezon Energy.

The Diaclone Capital Defence force attacks, but the kaiju, now given the name Dimensional Giant Monster Giganter, blocks all the attacks with a dimensional shield, and it absorbs the Freezon Energy of the attacks.

To prevent this, the Diaclone Capital Defense Force (ダイアクロン首都防衛隊, Daiakuron Shuto Bōei-tai) immediately goes into action!

Once the fleeing people evacuated into shelters, they launch their attack on the giant Kaiju which they identify and declare as Dimensional Giant Monster Giganter (次元巨獣ジャイガンター, Jigen Kyojū Jaigantā).

The capital defense machine team centered on a battalion of Giant Combat Command Base Robot Base (大型戦闘指令基地・ロボットベース, Ōgata Sentō Shirei Kichi Robotto Bēsu) fire their weapons at once.

But, could it be that all those attacks──from even the Robot Base's Freezon Beam Cannon (フリーゾンビームキャノン, Furīzon Bīmu Kyanon)──were rendered moot by the dimensional shield which Giganter created around its body.

And that's not all, even the Freezon Energy fired from those weapons get absorbed by Giganter!

Dozens of smaller human-sized monsters fall from Giganters body.

Giganter leaves the Tokyo City quietly after consuming the Freezon Energy and moves to the direction of west-southwest.

While dozens of small human-sized parasitic monsters spawn from its body──

These smaller monsters can reach 2m in size, and are labelled Dimensional Parasite Monsters.

Insectoid wings and limbs with a big 2 m diameter eyeball──this shape can be described to a swarm of Dimensional Parasite Monsters (次元寄生獣, Jigen Kisei-jū), they attack the Freezon Energy which is the power source of the Dia-Wing.

If Gridman materializes before he recovers enough energy, he risks putting Hikari's body in danger.

"Gridman! I need your help! Trample on those monsters!"

However, Gridman delivers a surprising reply.

"I'm sorry ...... my power hasn't recovered enough yet. If I forcibly materialize now, your body will be in danger."

With the influx of Freezon Energy, Gridman can perform an incomplete materialization.

"I can feel it...... the influx of power! Is this the power of Freezon Energy!? With this power, it's possible that I can perform an incomplete materialization!"

Just like Giganter, the Dimensional Parasite Monsters have dimensional shields. However, Gridman in the form of the Grid Suit is able to pierce these shields, as Gridman in this form can cancel the dimensional shields. Gridmans agile movement is thanks to Hikari's excellent physicality.

The engaged Powered Suits are struggling in against the Dimensional Parasite Monsters.

Just like Giganter, all attacks were nullified by the dimensional shield deployed by the Dimensional Parasite Monsters.

But in the midst of that──a fired single beam penetrated the dimensional shield and pierced the body of a Dimensional Parasite Monsters.

The beam──it was fired by an approaching Grid Suit.

Gridman's energy in the Powered Suit cancels the dimensional shield.

The Grid Suit approaches while rapid-firing his Launcher Cannon and jumps into the swarm of enemies to defeat the Dimensional Parasite Monsters one after another with its Beam Gun.

Landmaster's Computer World. That is──

A city with an infinite number of mechanical metal-colored buildings covered with glittering crystals──

It appears as a nature where small crystal birds flying over the spreading glass art-like vegetations──

A calm world where crystal clouds float in the sky and warm light shines from the jewel-like sun.

And in that corner──lies a mechanical humanoid whose whole body is covered with crystals working on a crystal console.

"Well done......" the crystal humanoid call it while walking to Gridman──he lightly crosses his hands in front of his chest.

His whole body is immediately wrapped in light──changes into a fearless young man in a white coat.

Hikari involuntarily leans over to the display screen and squeezes it.

"There's only one that equivalents to it in the solar system...... its in Jupiter's second moon, Europa."

"Jupiter!?"

As this is happening, Giganter approaches Mount Fuji, which contains the largest source of Freezon Energy on the planet. The Landmaster simulates what would happen if it reached the Freezon Energy and devours it; the kaiju would grow to the size of the Earth, if not the size of the entire Solar System, and the Earth qould be condensed to an atomic size as a result of the super-gravitational field, causing it to disappear.

Incredible news! Those who have been paying attention may have remembered I posted scans from the Gurren Lagann Archives, which had more references to 'Simon's multiverse' and 'Yoko's multiverse.' Well...I tracked down the official English version of the Gurren Lagann Archive to see what it has to say, and what do you know?

The official English version (translated by someone who probably hasn't even seen any of my respect threads and likely cares nothing for respect threads), translated it to say the exact thing my friends who can read Japanese said it says; that each member of Team Super Galaxy have their own multiverse in the Labyrinth. Not only is this something that has been said for over a decade, it's now been said in plain English.

However, there is one mistranslation on one page refering to 'Simon's multidimension' and 'Yoko's multidimension'.

In an interview, Hiroyuki Imaishi and Hiromi Wakabayashi say that with all of their works, regardless of whether they're original, based on a manga or set in the pre-existing world of a game, that on top of being able to enjoy working on the particular project, that whoever they're partnering with to create the project has to allow them to make it a Trigger anime, not just an intellectual property that was animated by them. Imaishi also says he tries to make something new for each project.

As thousands of fans queued up around the block waiting for entry into Anime NYC, it's first press conference featuring Studio TRIGGER kicked off. We had

Both Imaishi and Wakabayashi stressed that originality is a key component both to how TRIGGER is able to maintain consistent quality and how they define their work to begin with. The studio produces much more original work than others, despite the difficulties in pre-production and mapping out every single bit of a title from start to finish. When the studio is looking for a new project, whether its based on a game, an original work, or a manga adaptation, one of the most important prerequisites is that the team has the freedom to influence how the project turns out. Imaishi noted that he what he looks for is “how much I’m able to enjoy a particular project” and Wakabayashi noted that, in the context of appraising potential partners, TRIGGER evaluates “how much they are willing to work with us to make it a TRIGGER project. If they were to offer to just animate their intellectual property, it obviously won’t work well with us.” To both of them, a work that has not been transformed or touched by TRIGGER’s style cannot be called a TRIGGER project, something that really resonates with the strength and consistency of the studio’s style across the many years. Imaishi made it clear how important this commitment to creativity is:

“There is a distinct difference between each project. Speaking of myself, personally I feel that I get bored very easily. I try to not get bored, so I try to do something new for every project so that I don’t get bored.

As for what unannounced titles there may be in the future (other than Delicious in Dungeon and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt season 2), Imaishi says he wishes to make a Fast & the Furious anime called The Fast & the Furious: T (T obviously standing for Trigger, but only time will tell if this comes to fruition or not), and that Trigger don't follow a trend, and just do what they enjoy doing most.

We ended with some musings about future projects the two would be interested in. Wakabayashi explained that Studio TRIGGER has already been fortunate enough to collaborate with a lot of projects they wanted to, like Toy Story and Star Wars. Amusingly, the franchise he eventually settled on wanting to adapt was Fast and Furious, suggesting a series called Fast and Furious: T, with a “T” for TRIGGER. We at Anime Corner were incredibly thankful to hear the thoughts of Imaishi and Wakabayashi, especially surprising ones like this. Early in the conference, Wakabayashi explained that TRIGGER always creates the story that they want to tell.

“We don’t really follow a trend. We try to do what we enjoy the most.”

The introduction to the Multiverse, which has Rikka think of how the universe is composed of countless stars and galaxies (further evidence that Computer Worlds are universes). It goes on to say that there are potentially infinite worlds in the Multiverse, and these worlds may have always existed seperately or branched out from a single point (such as a Big Bang).

However, Rikka knew that there were many units of stars and galaxies in the universe, but it was said that there where multiple units of the universe, as expected, she would tilt her head.
Still holding onto Yuta's shoulder, Utsumi looked back at Rikka with a triumphant look.
"Recent series is common sense~?"

Multiverse.
Parallel worlds - Possible worlds - There are many names, but the essence is almost the same.
The theory that there are an infinite number of similar worlds, or universes, is the theory of the multiverse.
They may have originally existed seperately from the beginning, or it may have been born from a branching world triggered by an accidental event.
Even Utsumi's favourite tokusastu would sometimes depict the development of heroes in different universes who gather across universes to deal with some situation.
No way such a fictional phenomenon is the world we live in...What happens in space is Utsumi...

As Yomogi starts having an existiential crisis about his world, everyone he cares about and himself being creations of Gridman, Rikka and Utsumi tell him that they are artificial lifeforms created by a goddess called Akane Shinjo. However, the fact that they're artificial doesn't matter, as their lives, experiences and emotions are real. Anosillus the Second goes on to say that humans have the power to make fiction a reality, and gives the example of how someone getting invested in a TV show (such as Utsumi with Ultraman), would make that work of fiction real temporarily. She then goes on to say that it's possible for an author who thinks their real may actually be fictional and given that role in a story, or a story that is considered fictional may actually be it's own universe as big as the ones the people watching it consider real. This is in addition to there being Computer Worlds and artificial lifeforms in these worlds, and how life is life, regardless of whether it's real, artificial or fictional. This would imply that there are different universes not only within computers, but also works of fiction. I wonder how far up and down this goes?

Utsumi asserts as if he's blown away. He and Rikka lived in this city created by the gods without any change even after learning the truth.
Eat, go to school, play with friends, take a bath, sleep, and wake up in the morning.
Since I am living as a human without any problems, there is nothing to swallow my roots now."
The very fact that they thought so their strength.
"That's right. You don't just believe in facts. Gossip, myths, connections between nations and people, etc. - You like believing in things that have no form, right? You expand the community with the power to believe in fiction, and continued to evolve on this planet..."
Hearing the monster girl's profound speech, Yuta is taken aback.
"Utsumi cried watching the hero show, and I cried when I saw the drama club stage, the fictional story was unmistakable reality for us."
"You are the only life forms that can believe in fiction."
The monster girl smiled with a gentle voice that made her envious.
Humans believe fiction, and believe the world out there.
For example, suppose a person is watching a TV drama at home.
The drama that humans perceive as a fictional creation may actually be a universe that is as large as the world of humans who consider themselves to be real inhabitants.
Conversely, a write who thinks he is writing a novel in reality may actually be a fictitious character who has been given the role of a novelist in a certain creative work.
Alternatively, a completely different world may live in the electronic device called a personal computer. There may be as many of them as there are machines in the world.
In all those worlds, there are living beings.
Even if it is a fictional life, it lives like a real existence. There is joy and sorrow, there is joy and pain.
Knowing that - The girl of god was crushed by a sense of guilt and broke her heart once.
"...I don't really know where the universe came from, or whether it's made-up..I think I've decided what I'm going to do."
Rikka smiled and agreed with Yomogi, who had decided what to do even though she wasn't satisfied with everything."Then, come with us."
It's not about facing something grand with heroic aspirations. Just do what you decide to do...

All versions of Gridman are canon in their own world in the Gridman Universe (all of the spinoff novels and manga, and from the sounds of it possibly even the crossover games, as I see references to robot fights and apps).

A new Gridman was born from the thoughts of an Earth Defence Force girl with a strong sense of justice. There was a world of anecdotes related to silver armour.
A monster created by a man who was not chosen and a girl who wanted a hero to summon a hero. There was a world of mission and salvation that disappeared in the flow of time.
There was a world full of fighting spirit where Dynazenon and Gridknights self-training got caught up in chaos.
An endless world of monsters created by the emotions of people fascinated by the battles of giant robots. There was a fantasy chronicle unfolded by Dynazenon and Gauma Corps.
There are countless other Gridman stories floating around in space. The world of Dynazenon created by Gridman...The many stories spread out into the universe myself.

Somewhere in the myriad overlapping universes of this vast Gridman Universe, Gridman awaits him.

The Winged Lion shares the memories of all the other demons in all the other dungeons, as they're all parts of the same entity, that being the other dimension where infinity exists. This dimension is the source of mana, and it can be said that the entire dungeon is a part of the Winged Lion. The Winged Lions goal is to expand the dungeon so it covers the entire world, then it would be able to feed of the desires of everyone. World in context means at minimum the planet (as the diagram shows the expansion of the dungeon/mana across the planet), but it may be higher.

The island splits open (likely due to the Winged Lion as its power grows), and the dungeon seems to have another dimensional aspect to it, being able to fit landmasses like the golden country inside, and there's a dark space where Marcelle creates things to grant the wishes of her companions (the golden country, I can't remember it's name, also had stars above it).

As the dungeon master, Marcelle summons armies of monsters, including a quetzalcoatl and many red dragons.

Nakajima: (ignoring) However, I set the Spiral Nemesis as black matter that has mass and causes a Big Crunch that causes the Universe to contract and collapse. But if you think about it, it's the same as 'GaoGaiGar FINAL!' (laughs) So no more! Because it's 'Gurren Lagann,' when the Spiral Power is activated, people become he galaxy! In short, the Spiral Power of the double helix is actually transferring the energy of the spiral galaxy that is connected in another dimension. The infinite energy of Spiral Power is activated by controlling the energy of one galaxy with human will. When it becomes uncontrollable, it devours the flesh and a galaxy is born. Galaxies will be created in the universe as many as the number of spiral life forms, and as a result the Universe itself will collapse.

Shigeto Koyama has implied that Trigger will continue to create more series in the spirit of Gurren Lagann!


In other news, I have started watching the Delicious in Dungeon anime! So far the feats are about the same level as the manga, although there are a few more feats here and there (such as the Red Dragon shattering stone with its tail).

Trigger have made a short collaboration anime with Lotte Chocolate Business, animated by Yoh Yoshinari. The clip features multiple witches singing and dancing to 'Chocolate Cadabara' (with the girl in the red dress being able to turn into chocolate, and the witches flying on magic with brooms).

Looking more into it though, it seems this will be an entire music video out on the 31st of this month. Not only that, but this video clip actually has lore behind it. From the above youtube video description, three girls go on an adventure between the worlds of 'science, magic and reality' (if this is metaphorical or literal we will have to wait and see).
