Calc Mahoutsukai no Yoru Feat - Flat Snark's Giant Ice Boulder Creation

Calculations
The Feat

Flat Snark essentially pulls water from the surrounding atmosphere and freezes it into a giant boulder of ice.

Aoko later matches and surpasses the energy the Flat Snark is using in the fight thus would scale to every facet of what the Flat Snark produced

Further justifying exposition

EM sort of did this one a while back, but I'm not a fan of using energy blast parameters unless nothing else is available

Fun fact being I don't need to use them

Now, the moon varies in our sky in terms of how far away it normally is, this translates into looking like such and such number of degrees across in size such as...

You can find that info here

Me said:
You already have Angular Diameter (d~) = 29 arcminutes 20 arcseconds - 34 arcminutes 6 arcseconds for the moon's regular position

Which can be converted to degrees by multiplying both by 1/3600 which gives you 0.489 degrees to 0.563 degrees for the regular moon respectively

So...

r = g/(2*tan(α/2))

g = real size, r = distance, α = angular diameter or apparent size, parallax

g and r have the same unit, regardless if centimeters or light-years

We can thank Flat Snark for pretending to be the moon, which can varying between 0.489 degrees to 0.563 degrees in the sky with an average between the low and high of 0.526 degrees.

As it was functioning as Flat Snark's disguise, it shouldn't look any smaller than the moon in terms of degrees in the sky at any rate. Could potentially be bigger, but that's also unsubstantiated especially since it was a functional disguise sans being a Full Moon on the night of a New Moon (I think, I only read this shit once and fuck watching it again).

Because this is scaling from angular size, things like Foreground and Background are irrelevant too, so no need to consider that given we're discussing a standardized form of apparent size *shrugs*

To do angular size though I kind of need a distance.

No problem.

As this bit of story tells us? Her effective range, basically where she conjures that symbol in the sky, is about 600 meters. Anything behind that symbol, like Flat Snark and the Ice need to be at least that far away. Probably further, and I could figure our how much so by using the angle the beam is shot at, but that's way too much work for so little extra increase.

With all this accounted for?

Scaling and shit now

Image 1 serves to tell us the thing's dimensions in proportion to later use for ratio because this is the only time the entire body is on the fucking screen

Image 2 serves to tell us its width before expanding 1 last time later.

"Moon" = 28 pixels
Ice Width = 398 pixels
Ice Length = 455 pixels

Ice Length/Ice Width = 1.143

Which will be used later to find the final Ice Length later after the expansion is done with

Ice Width 2 = 685 pixels

Ice Width 2/"Moon" = 24.464

Normal Moon (Low End) = 0.489 degrees
Normal Moon (Average) = 0.526 degrees
Normal Moon (High End) = 0.563 degrees

Ice Width 2 (Low End) = 11.963 degrees
Ice Width 2 (Average) = 12.868 degrees
Ice Width 2 (High End) = 13.773 degrees

Minimum Distance = 600 meters

Ice Width 2 (Low End) = 125.733 meters
Ice Width 2 (Average) = 135.323 meters
Ice Width 2 (High End) = 144.929 meters

dnGVkpb.png

M4FTu6W.png

Ice Width 2 = 808 pixels
Ice Width 3 = 941 pixels

Ice Width 3/Ice Width 2 = 1.165

Ice Width 3 (Low End) = 146.479 meters
Ice Width 3 (Average) = 157.651 meters
Ice Width 3 (High End) = 168.842 meters

Thus we can find Ice Length 2 using the ratio of Ice Length/Ice Width = 1.143 from before

Ice Length 2 (Low End) = 167.425 meters
Ice Length 2 (Average) = 180.195 meters
Ice Length 2 (High End) = 192.986 meters

Volume = (4/3)PIr1^2r2

r1 = (Ice Width 3)/2
r2 = (Ice Length 2)/2

Ice Volume (Low End) = 1,879,963.59 m^3
Ice Volume (Average) = 2,343,767.855 m^3
Ice Volume (HIgh End) = 2,879,155.877 m^3

The freezing process is essentially the exact opposite of vaporization, thus you can use the j/cc for water vaporization here for the energy Flat Snark removed from the system.

Which again Aoko later has to match thus scales to all aspects of Flat Snark's magic.

2,260 j/cc

Flat Snark Yield (Low End) = 4,248,717,713,400,000 joules or 1.015 megatons
Flat Snark Yield (Average) = 5,296,915,352,300,000 joules or 1.266 megatons
Flat Snark (High End) = 6,506,892,282,020,000 joules or 1.555 megatons

So that's a thing *shrugs*

Final Tally

Flat Snark Yield (Low End) = 1.015 megatons
Flat Snark Yield (Average) = 1.266 megatons
Flat Snark (High End) = 1.555 megatons
