Kurama catches an Eraser

Here's the Feat

Jealous little shit chucks an eraser at Kurama's head

Kurama moves his arm about a half circumference in the minor span of time he has between the travel panel and catching it

FC4huVL.png

Image 1, Bottom Right Panel

Kurama = 490 pixels
Height From Collar = 106 pixels

Height From Collar/Kurama = 0.216

Kurama = 1.64 meters (he's 14 [a year before he met Yusuke], average height should be fair enough at a minimum)
Height From Collar = 0.354 meters

Image 2, Bottom Left Panel

So, you're probably thinking, why do I need this "Height From Collar" thing

Well, I don't need to worry about how far into the background the eraser is in the first panel of transit because the end panel let's us see where the eraser's trajectory was roughly

So, using the top of Kurama's hair as the reference point? I can determine the distance the eraser would travel between panels

Now more scaling

Height From Collar = 355 pixels
Middle of Eraser Height Above Hair = 39 pixels

Middle of Eraser Height Above Hair/Height From Collar = 0.11

No size to determine, just establishing a ratio

Image 1, Top Panel

Height From Collar = 406 pixels

So, if that's the case, then...

Previous Panel Middle of Eraser Height Above Hair = 45 pixels
Total Distance Eraser Fell Further = 71 pixels

Total Distance Eraser Fell Further/Height From Collar = 0.175

Total Distance Eraser Fell Further = 0.062 meters

Image 3

Kid = 323 pixels
Distance to Desks = 859 pixels

Distance to Desks/Kid = 2.659

Kid = 1.64 meters (as established above, average 14 year old male height)
Distance to Desks = 4.361 meters

Image 2, Top Left Panel

Maya = 348 pixels
Tile = 138 pixels

Tile/Maya = 0.397

Maya = 1.587 meters (average 14 year old girl height)
Tile = 0.63 meters

Distane Beyond Desk = 2.5 Tiles

Distance Kurama is Beyond Desks = 1.575 meters

Add the distance to desks to distance Kurama is beyond desks to get...

Total Distance Thrown = 5.936 meters

Now, the angle in the top panel of image 1 can be shown as measured on this protractor here.

At 71 pixels vertical and 86 pixels horizontal like in the top panel of image 1?

That angle is 40 degrees.

Thus, with the total distance thrown and angle, I can derive how high the eraser reached into the air before we see it on the panel Kurama caught it.

Projectile Motion Calculator

At a speed of 7.688 m/s and 40 degrees angle of throw? The peak height of throw is 1.245 meters. The final fall travel height as Kurama catches is determined by adding the total distance the eraser fell further to that peak height of throw for a distance of 1.307 meters.

Thus I can now derive our time frame.

Time Frame = sqrt((2d)/g)

d = Fall Height
g = 9.8 m/s^2

Initial Time Frame = 0.504 seconds
Final Time Frame = 0.516 seconds
Total Time Frame Kurama's Arm Moved = 0.012 seconds

Kurama's arm moved?

Kurama Arm = 0.65 meters (conservative/fair given the height I'm using)

Half Circumference = Pr (it has to be a half circumference, here his shoulder is in no manner raised as if it had started to move in the bottom left panel)

Kurama Arm Movement = 2.041 meters

Kurama's Speed = 170 m/s or mach 0.5

Given both he and Hiei are a year weaker than they were in the Artifacts of Darkness Arc where they were introduced? This is a decent feat for D Class Demon kind.

Especially since both Kurama and Hiei were about equal in this prequel story.

Next up?

8 Hand's Physical Might

The Feat

So, yeah, more low tier scaling fodder essentially

He punches the floor and causes some minor craters in some concrete

fQ128w9.png
rcBo7u1.png

Image 1

Kurama = 367 pixels
8 Hand Torso = 431 pixels

8 Hand Torso/Kurama = 1.174

8 Hand Torso = 1.925 meters

Image 2

8 Hand Torso = 216 pixels
Crater Diameter = 155 pixels

Crater Diameter/8 Hand Torso = 0.718

Crater Diameter = 1.382 meters

Volume = (2/3)PIr1^2r2

r1 = Crater Diameter/2
r2 = Crater Diameter/4

Crater Volume = 0.344 m^3

6 j/cc (I think it's pretty obvious its concrete given its the floor of a abandoned factory type place)

8 Hand's Physical Might = 2,064,000 joules or 493.307 grams

And as the fight with 8 Hands shows us, they're able to contend with his strength (as in, his propensity to block their strikes suggests doing otherwise would be dangerous for him), eat his strikes, and even end up bisecting his ass.

Final Tally

Kurama catches an Eraser

Kurama's Speed = 170 m/s

8 Hand's Physical Might

8 Hand's Physical Might = 493.307 grams

I do high school physics for stupid shit because I find it fun for some ridiculous reason.

I'm neither a physicist or engineer. I study psychology.

Before taking me at my word, think for yourself and don't just appeal to the shit I'm posting without evaluating it yourself. That should go without saying. I'm not an expert, do not treat me like one.

Hey man nice calcs.

I never really though about these kinda calcs before. People just assume they are super fast. I am reading through Rave Master and I was only looking for big feats, but now I am kinda thinking I need to go back and skim again.

Its basically gap filling

Each arc has their own "Big Feats"

Just that for the low tiers, the "Big Feats" are pretty humble, especially early in the story.
