Then Dio wouldn't be Dio or the story wouldn't happen at all, it's as simple as that.
I don't mind these kinds of what if questions if it at least makes sense for the characters involved, but when the question itself necessitates the characters being completely different people to even discuss it then I'm just like "fuck that".

Now that I think about it even Kabuto occasionally dropped his usual smug bullshit to sincerely tell them Sasuke did all that shit willingly, they didn't brainwash him into it and its pathetic how far they're going to bat for him. That arc is honestly worth rereading just to see how big of a horrendous shit show it was. And the timeskip wasn't really that good to start with

Sakura fans in general overdose on copium.Don’t think I’ve ever seen bigger Copium levels in shippers than the NaruSaku fandom.

Nah Sakura's not a total bitch, despite her doing nothing but treating Naruto like shit for no reason, being prepared to leave the village with Sasuke just to stay with the piece of shit OR my personal favorite, doing a fake confession in front of another girl Sakura already knows is in love with Naruto in order to emotionally manipulate him.
At least Hinata's only issue is in the fact that, like most Naruto side characters, her character arc largely happens off-screen but at least she had SOMETHING to work with and it made sense why she liked Naruto, whereas no one can tell me why Sakura liked Sasuke or Naruto liked Sakura to begin with.

The fact that Sakura fans have to defend Sakura, a supposed main character against Hinata who is a notable side character at best is pathetic on its own tbh.
