I think it has everything to do with your ego - you don't want to keep second guessing so you force yourself into clamping down, generally at the cost of any further commentary.

Self involved is a very uncharitable way of perceiving players, again though I think I put this down to you and yours thinking you're better players than everyone else in the game when you're not.
It causes pressure, because it requires scum to fake a thought process which is the hardest thing for them. They also are forced into picking a side - they can't just let someone else do their work for them when they're being tasked with qualifying their suspicion.
This whole "went after" thing is just ridiculously limited as far as scum hunting goes. Again there are ways to solve slots and scum hunt that doesn't persist of grabbing g quotes from them and arguing why they're scum outright - it's about getting them to make a position and using that and the way they're arguing it to read them. I have a good few reads this game so obviously something is working, now they could be way off but I don't think so.
"Once you reach a certain point" is important there.
