Street Fighter: discussion, feats, and analysis

How are all of you nibbas not talking about how Gen is somehow still alive according to Capcom :mjlol. Let my man kill something for once Capcom I beg of you :wow.
Yeah I've been meaning to go over that string of questions on Twitter.

Besides the fact that Gen is alive still, which is both neat and sad (Capcom won't kill anyone).

We got further confirmation that all ki/powers derive from the same source but the way you access that power can shape the properties of it and the fighter.

Satsui no Hado = Psycho Power with respect to their natures. I.E. Negative emotion/intent. Corrupting force.
Mu no Ken = Soul Power with respect to their natures. I.E. Positive emotion/intent. Cleansing force.

Honestly, I had a feeling they didn't have the balls to truly kill off Gen because Capcom can't even kill off M.Bison for more than a single game(SFIII) before immediately shilling that he would be back.
It's why the entire Akuma/Oni plotline will also similarly fail because we know Capcom would absolutely not kill off Akuma if they can't even kill off Gen.

Nothing of note other than Mai being hot. Inconclusive match with Juri and Honda. Just Mai being Mai.

Although I don't usually post in this thread under normal circumstances, but just saw this when searching up "Mai" and yeah mate, I agree with this part of your post the most.

W Take. :pepechad:

Seeing pics and clips of Shiranui on my FB feed is one of the biggest reasons I seem to be fascinated with KoF from an outside bird's eye point of view. "The Alluring Ninja Girl" alone is what carries her own series and most of SNK for me lol.

Okay I'll shut up now.

backs out of the thread silently

....that is stupid as hell man

Tbf it has been hinted at forever in tons of crossover titles and in the comics.

Just waiting for the proper crossover to happen to confirm it.

It means we might be getting a Darkstalkers character for one of the seasons of DLC. I would love Talbain.

Imagine if Street Fighter's top-tiers like Ryu or Akuma if not all other SF characters scaling to Darkstalkers characters like Pyron, Jedah, and Morrigan became unironically canon now.

I bet all the Tekken scalers and bros out there are about to get salty asf that they'll never win a debate against the SF-verse again without bringing in some equally ridiculous crossover scaling of their own somehow.

I demand Morrigan as a DLC, and that she's left untouched by the so-called "ethics" department

I mean speaking of Morrigan and scaling.

As I have said before when justifying continental scaling for Street Fighter characters prior to the Honda feat, most in-house Capcom crossovers have hinted at this.

Time for a breakdown.

We first have Ryu and Hulk fighting Dah'ren Mohran from Monster Hunter and both doing equal work in taking it down from Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite. Elder Dragons like that start out at Continental in power:

Then we have Teppen where Ryu causes Morrigan to get interested/nervous. The Satsui no Hado itself giving her pause.

This ties into Thanos's description of the Satsui no Hado's ability to harm/kill abstracts:

The Street Fighter x Darkstalkers comic details how the Satsui no Hado is of Makai (and everything really) and that any of its users are similar to Darkstalkers. In addition, Akuma's SF6 appearance is directly explained in the comic Akuma vs Hell.

Now, there are some obvious inconsistencies with the comics because Gen was confirmed to be alive by the SF6's director. That is one of the many reasons the comics are considered non-canon.

The precedence for crossover scaling has always been there and it applies as more than referential tidbits.

Crossovers titles sure but the worlds just don't mesh at all. I love SF and Darkstalkers tremendously but both of them being in the same world would ruin a lot of the setting of both to me.

Would love a DS character in SF though. Agree on Talbain being probably the best choice, I love Donovan and Huitzil but Donovan is too normal looking to be meaningful as a crossover character and Huitzil's too weird. Jon's in a good middle ground.

I suppose you didn't like it when Udon connected both franchises in their comics. They could work just fine if they don't fumble the writing...

Still, do you prefer to keep them separate so both sides stay thematically consistent?

Jon is also good choice because of his martial arts background. So, if we could get both him and Morrigan, that would be awesome!

I think stuff like that is fun as a what-if my issue is bringing it into the main canon, I like the lore for both games a ton and just can’t imagine them working next to each other.

crossovers are 100% ok with me but when you’re establishing the main storylines together…idk man I can’t see galaxy sized alien gods and dimension spanning vampire lords coexisting with the very idea of “Street Fighter”

I mean Street Fighter already has some bonkers shit that stands out from the general vibe of the series.

- Necali's whole backstory as a type of Avatar of Battle & Violence
- G's esoteric and enigmatic backstory of being some type of representative of the Earth
- Rose's time travel storyline
- Gill being some type of Messianic angelic figure
- Oni and Kage being actual demons and manifestations of the Satsui no Hado

I like the idea of tying the more supernatural shit to the Darkstalker's Universe in some way.

It could also explain why everyone on the fucking planet is some type of fighter. We see in World Tour Mode that its canon that fighting has been incorporated into the everyday lives of its citizens. Why would society develop that way? I mean if there were actual demons coming from an alternate realm to claim the souls of mortals, then it would stand to reason that humanity would have to change somethings about their society to ensure its survival.

This started out with the Darkstalker Hunters Organization that includes the likes of BB Hood, and then as we approached the more modern era, the whole planet's population is well-versed in defending itself.

Cool. :pimpe

I just wanted to see the Tekken-verse get stomped even harder by SF.

Or at least make all the Jin/Kazuya Bros out there butthurt and seethe even more bigly with scaling from Darkstalkers for Ryu and Akuma pouring some more salt into the wounds.

So sue me. 😃
