It really did and it makes me sad. I got into GG back in 97. Rented it and bio-broly and me and my cousins liked it so much I "accidently" ripped a page from the book it came with so moms had to buy it instead. Some of the most enjoyable characters ever and they reduced them to stereotypes with a focus on pandering to these autistic ass niggas. Knowing this is the direction the games taking in the future too feels like hearing Toriyama died again

looking at releases my friend got me into the series around the time XX came out, we played it a bunch and liked the aesthetics setting setup music even while basically everyone else besides his brother and his brother's friends around us were playing the smashes instead

sad this is what daisuke thinks longtime fans wanted smfh

Right?

You're telling me he looked at the success of XRD and Revelator and went "Yeah they must hate it tear it down"

Despite not personally liking the direction the story was going plenty of people actually loved it, especially things like the revelation of Sol being Dizzy's father (a pay off niggas waited 12+ years for). They were already moving toward fucking with the characters but they still felt like GG characters. Gameplay wise all he had to do was tweak the system a bit. Hell, all he really would have had to do was get rid of fucking danger time. Blitz had niggas divided but at that point you get feedback on what the community wants.

SF5 looked at the V system and peoples complaints about there being a lack of defensive options and low and behold they gave everyone two VTriggers to better suit playstyles and later on added V shift. They didn't just outright tear down the V system. Before the end of its era SF5 had actually become a pretty good game. They then took what they learned from 5 and used it to innovate a system they had used in previous games giving birth to the drive system.

Daisuke took strive and pretty much threw out everything from XRD. Decided to go HAM on reducing his characters to their basic traits and deciding he didn't give a fuck about a ton of the loose ends that needed tying and blue balling us. The only thing I give credit to Strive for is the expansion of the Roman cancel system but even that that was being enhanced in pmuch every new iteration of the series so it's not like it's special in that regard

Hey, the Ultimate Ninja series on PS2 is really good though. Best of the 2D Naruto fighters IMO

Wish CC2 would go back to this series instead of endless Storm rehashes. Connections has proven that cow has run dry

Shit, UN4’s open world campaign >>> any of Storm’s which actually got worse each installment. Nice little story set between Part 1 and 2, plenty of land to explore and it’s a hack n slash

"What most people making these stories don't seem to get is, multiverse stories are boring."

When poorly or lazily written? Yes they are but not inherently so. There are several good multiverse based stories, like anything else it depends on how you write it.

Obviously when you use it like Neatherrealm MK or Injustice does, ie as an excuse to casually kill off characters consequence free 'cause you can just replace them with an alternate universe version who just happens to be basically the exact same, that's hot garbage.

Now personally I prefer multiverse stories which feature multiple characters from different parts of a franchise interacting (ie Dissidia Final Fantasy, the climax of Digimon Young Hunters etc.) as opposed to the different timelines variant where it's different versions of the same characters but regardless, weather it's good or bad comes down to how its written and isn't inherent to multiverse stories.

Modern multiverse stories being almost universally terrible is the same as Superhero and Star Wars stories, the reason they're sucking right now is just because of the bad writing they're plagued with, nothing to do with the types of stories themselves.

The biggest issue with Multiverse stories is basically the fact that too many people are prescribed to how parallel timelines somehow means the character is the exact same being with no differences outside of maybe having a different gender rather than potentially living a whole ass different life entirely.

It's basically the entire problem with Loki for the MCU where they desperately want to bring back how he was in Infinity War but don't want to go through all of that icky development process so what do they do? They literally have the Loki that came from just after The Avengers get a literal device that tells him how the life of Infinity War Loki went and that somehow helped change him combined with finding out the Infinity Stones is worthless in the grand scheme of things because... the TVA uses them as the equivalent of Paperweights(Which basically destroyed the entire point of the Infinity Saga but hey! Atleast Loki is a good guy now right?).
All the MCU does is just pluck characters from different points in their lives but never actually goes with them being completely different than how they are like a true Parallel Timeline would be.

That's the issue with Multiverse Stories as we see them now but I can see why people are just throwing out the baby with the bathwater due to how terribly done recent multiverse stories are and they continue falling into the same trap.

Their real problem was that multiverse stories peaked after Jet Li’s The One :doge

I hate anything done by Seth Rogen so this will be a hard pass

It’s amazing how someone who writes shit so bad like Seth still finds work

So I'm about to launch a channel and I'm doing a script about why the Bloodline story is the best in WWE history.

Since I'm not as updated week to week, it would be useful if I could have some people to consult with and maybe a proofreader to ensure I haven't missed anything important. You would be credited in the video in whatever way you want.

I want to launch with a script about Tolkien and this would be the second video, set to premier WrestleMania Sunday.

Related: anyone know any good free video editing software? I don't need anything too complicated but old school movie maker is probably too simple.
