Makes sense. Movies have been largely shit since 2020, the current trend of releasing movies on streaming at the same time as release since Covid, and to a lesser extent a lot of Americans are sick of most celebrities these daysY'all need to look at this: https://www.the-numbers.com/market/
The number of annual ticket sales in the United States all used to be above the baseline of one billion before 2020, peaking at over a billion and a half in 2002 and 2003...
In 2020 it dropped by over a billion less tickets for the first time to just 200 million...
And it took two years for it to be just over half a billion and we have still yet to go back to reaching the 1 billion tickets threshold.
Let that sink in.
Since 2020, I’ve been to the theaters a grand total of 3 times: Just now to watch Gundam Seed Freedom and for Top Gun: Maverick, and Equalizer 3
Before that, I was a regular movie goer

90% of complaints about nintendo are how they handle copywrites and how they handle smash bros competitive community

so yea it's expected, also those who are paying for online services like netflix, amazon prime etc just kept their subscription rather than going to local theaters.

Speaking of, I think this movie just confirmed that Shin is indeed the more skilled pilot than Kira when he’s keeping his head cool. Kira was getting no grounds and fighting purely on the defensive when facing the bad guy and one Black Knight and only got out of it from Athrun bailing him out (yet again) and Lacus showing up for his Strike Freedom to go God Mode. Strike Freedom was getting torn apart until that happened.
Shinn in his now outdated Destiny Gundam still DESTROYED 3 Black Knights like nothing and set up a 4th one to be killed by Hilda. No powerup, major upgrades, or anything needed, Stella just came in to stop the Black Knights from attempting their BS mind control tactics on him.
Movie was supposed to be about Kira and Lacus but Shinn and Athrun in his goofy ass Z’Gok disguised Justice Gundam ended up being the real MVPs here
