It's a big jump from ARR to Heavensward if we're talking about the base release of the game. This was the time when the team was on their toes because the future of the game was very uncertain due to how badly 1.0 flopped.Me: Watching a story focused playthrough of Final Fantasy XIV ARR (starting in Ul'dah) and enjoying it so far.
Guy Playing: Keeps trying to apologize for how "slow and generic" the story is early on and insisting it gets better.
Me: "But, but it's fine right now, what's there to apologize for? It's playing set up sure because it's the beginning but I'm liking both the story and the characters so far."
Guy Playing: Talks about how much better voice acted, directed etc. later scenes are after a flashback to the Calamity.
Me: "Sure they may very well be but I didn't see what was bad about that one or these voice actors in general, they seem fine to me."
Am I insane? Or is it really just that it's THAT much better later that the start seems bad to this guy by comparison?
ARR being "bad" is kind of a meme in the community, but it's probably the most dry of the stories until you start dealing with garlemald proper. Post-ARR MSQ is complete and utter batshit insanity all the way to the wham ending before Heavensward kicks off, and there's a VERY good reason you unlock Dark Knight as a job in Heavensward.
What makes ARR special is that the dev team has gone back to it and taken out some of the jank, reducing the number of quests required to hit heavensward, reworking some of the fights and later dungeons to make them less obnoxious for players.

Sure Inaccurate doesn't equal bad, but in this case, it's both inaccurate AND bad.

I honestly just ignore the shit but Reddit has always been like that.
They pretty much pick, choose and lord over any Sub-Reddits they don't like, will get Admins and Super-Admins in it and block it for any and every reason they can.
The really fucked up part about it is that they don't even do this equally with the other games that do similar shit like NIKKE(Though to be more fair, they usually leave that shit be going for more funny stuff instead) or Azur Lane.
EDIT: And before some dumbass misinterprets my words, no, I don't care for that sort of thing, I'm just pointing out the Admin and Super Admin themselves are pedophiles who lord over their own power and do this shit as a sort of "justice" for their own fucked up actions. Many people even in Grandorder Reddit knows how hypocritical it is to do that because the game outside of doing that, has no actual pedophile tendencies.
So yeah, it's the same situation with Discord despite... you know.

How could it not be, when Hades was turned into a Poseidon simp for ROR Poseidon, while fighting just like Poseidon, just with 'strength' instead of 'precision' even though the author did a terrible job of showing that. Persephone also doesn't exist and Hades never once uses his helm of darkness, all while the author wanked Qin Shi Hwank to oblivion. Shit went beyond disrespectful, lad.
