Intro

In a world where Magic and Science are at such a level that one could be easily mistaken for another, people are sometimes born with strange gifts. With how far along science and magic has come, telling what a child has as an ability is something trivial to the world today. Some parents enjoy the surprise factor of the whole situation and as such reserve the right to not know what the ability may be. Some abilities can be seen as relatively harmless: being able to see in the dark, the ability to fly, or the ability to breathe underwater. Others can provide ways for the person and their family to make a living: Being a living battery, duplication, water production. All abilities vary in both application and use. However, in one household, the family has been very secretive about what their child ability may be. Up until the age of 8 the child was homeschooled and squirrelled away from the world. Whenever his parents were asked about how their child was doing they would always change the topic onto something else. This caused many rumours to spread about the entire family. "Maybe they killed their child and are lying about it", "Maybe he has an ability that's super dangerous and they keep him locked in the basement", "Maybe they are abusing his ability to make themselves rich!" For years these rumours continued to spread until the day of the child 12th Birthday. Regardless of how they were raised till this point in time, all children were eventually required to have a formal education and as such, it was mandatory for them to go out to an actual school. Today would be Kril's first day outside of his home and the first day of the rest of his life.
