Though their powers are similar yet fundamentally distinct, it may be misguided to compare them. Even so, Kiri understands he falls short by that very standard.

Yeah in the end result, MEoDP is a freakish mutation of both Pure and Mystic Eyes so I can't really disagree on that being the case for Tohno vs. Ryougi but it ultimately hits the same beat regardless.
So yeah it's basically just being pedantic for the sake of it after that.

Actually, I wouldn't say it's a bad argument, it's just being pedantic because when you equally have someone say that everything after FGO is somehow "new continuity divorced from the old" even when Type-Lumina explicitly denies the hell out of that, you kinda reach some new level of terrible.

Like the timelines still being infinite isn't wrong at all because in regards to Humanity as they are currently, they are pruned but to the Universe, they explicitly aren't deleted and more just stopped(This is heavily hinted at in FGO but stated outright in Fate/Extella) but it's being pedantic because there are still quite frankly infinite timelines even for the ones being supported despite being pruned every 100 years due to the explanation Fate/Extella gives and how even the old series(OG Tsukihime and Fate) actually goes with that and Hollow Atraxia even moreso.

If you're implying that's Void Shiki, it's not.

Void Shiki shows up exactly once and does nothing but talk to normal Shiki through time travel.

The one fighting Souren is just "Shiki but she locks in" by using a sword because of some mental technique.

I don't know Toaru, but I don't think that what I'm reading about personal reality sounds less like Simple Domain and more like Domain Expansion. Domain expansion in JJK is about bringing out your innate domain, the inner world of your soul, into the real world, GENERALLY within a barrier of some kind. If you're half-assing it like Megumi you need a physical barrier. More competent sorcerers can make a barrier. And of course the strongest characters can make a barrierless domain.

But even if they're conceptually similar its weird to have them interact because the conditions of activation and sustaining them are so different.

Personally for the sake of a good fight I'd treat it like Domain Amplification, which nullifies the sure hit of a domain (but you can still be overpowered by regular attacks in the domain)

Okay, I see this and I immediately go and be like "Why is Spacebattles and other places like Reddit make Jujutsu Kaisen so overly complicated and beyond Shonen conventions"... when they are precisely within Shonen conventions for all of their shit?

I'm going to give the actual definitions of Cursed Energy, Domain Amplification and Simple Domain and I want anyone with a brain to understand this shit:

This is literally just the Ki equivalent in every other shonen, this is literally JUST Ki(Even the negative emotion requirement is bogus because you see when characters get angry and focused, their Ki-equivalent still fucking spikes based on that). The easiest 2 examples I can point to is basically anytime Goku goes rage mode(The most recent example is Jiren) and Gohan's explosions of anger against... anyone who pisses him off and Ichigo when Yhwach confirmed that he destroyed the Soul Society:



So having Misaka somehow be limited to the CE of a CIVILIAN rather than giving her the CE equivalent of her station just further shows they are needlessly handicapping her for no reason rather than just having her as she is in To Aru: She's a Level 5 in To Aru so she should be a Special Grade Sorcerer in JJK at the least.

Now this would primarily fit the point they are talking about in that not everyone can do something similar to Domain Amplification as it's stated... except again, the issue is less of Domain Expansion itself and more what a DOMAIN is(As it's ultimately separate from Domain Expansion).
The issue is looking at a Simple Domain and how it operates...

it's literally no different than enveloping yourself in the Ki-Equivalent but more refined... which would STILL be just enveloping yourself in Ki but more refined(like how Ichigo tends to do it being fully serious... or or a Z-Fighter's Ki flare in SSJ or fully powered up) which again isn't all that impressive either...
Like yes, you have the rules of a Simple Domain can be established but it's just extra steps to the same conclusion. Not helped that the overall explanation of what a Domain is at it's core(Not DE or DA or SD, just Domain) isn't all that tuned out either.

So ultimately TL;DR: Jujutsu Kaisen fans overcomplicate their lore when it's basically no different than any other franchise and Misaka smokes the shit out of the Disaster Curses.

The funny part is that it's ultimately worthless anyway because Shiki survives Fujino using her Mystic Eyes to twist the entire bridge they was fighting on and the overall collapse after that. This isn't getting into her "outjumping a C4 explosion while still being in it's epicenter" nonsense.
So it's just being a numbty for the sake of it.
