In the anime of LWA, Leylines are required to travel between Luna Nova and the rest of England.

This backs up that Luna Nova being located in another dimension (something canon to the OVAs) seems to still be canon for the anime.

I forgot to mention that Luna Novis Academy manifests itself in a different dimension. In the normal wold, magic is slowly vanishing, but in the dimension they phase into, magic can be used freely. It makes me think that magic would have to be stowed away and used in a limited capacity.

It's also worth repeating that the power of the Ley Lines are so great that they warp space & dimensions (I've posted the quote a bunch of times but I'll try to post it again next time.) The quote roughly goes as thus though;

This world exists in a tangle of ley lines and complex magical forces. The superposition of space and dimensions is extreme. As such, some lands can't be reached by foot or vehicle.

These include a mithril backstand, adamantium sandpaper, chrondigizon compass, a gas pipe from the Shire, a toothbrush from the Yahoo tribe, an elf fishermans fishing net, Gremlin brand chewing gum & Fafnir's beard (referencing Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Gulliver's Travels & possibly even Digimon).

Also apparently this is this is the translation G1 and DB used for Otoko Simon CD with a small note at the end for their interpretation of the "20th dimension" thing

This has previously been translated as "20th dimension" in the powerscaling community. However, that was a machine translation. With no official transcription for these drama CDs, translations have to rely on prior knowledge, context, and intuition.
I'm beating around the bush here, but essentially, there are two plausible interpretations for "nijuu jigen" here. Jigen is 次元 dimension either way, so I'll just focus in on nijuu.
The first interpretation is 二十, meaning twenty, so "二十次元" would be "20th dimension." There's nothing inherently wrong with this - it's how you'd say it, and Gurren Lagann likes doing funny dimension things.
The second interpretation is 二重, meaning double-layered, twofold, and so on, hence "twofold dimension." An example of 二重 that some might be aware of is Hakurei Reimu's Spell Card 二重結界, which the Touhou community translates as "Duplex Barrier."
I'm not at well-versed in TTGL as a lot of people reading this likely are, but from what I understand, official text supports up to an 11th dimension. But the point is, it's my opinion, that given the following factors...

1. Gurren Lagann's highest mentioned dimension is 11, and 11 to 20 is a huge jump for no particular reason besides "this is the evil side's final attack"
2. The sentence has a convenient "two" we can connect the concept of twofold with since two powers are beind discussed as the subject of whatever "twisting" is happening here
3. No character reacts to this in any way that supports the meaning of 20th dimension, nor is it addressed again later
4. From the Gurren Lagann Wiki, when describing Infinity Big Bang Storm: "The mech grabs two nearby Super Spiral galaxies in the Super Spiral Space, crushes them together, and compresses their matter and energy into a ball. It then unleashes the resulting pressure, combined with the Anti-Spiral's own energy, as an enormous blast of raw energy."
"Grabbing two galaxies and crushing them together" sounds an awful lot like "taking two powers and twisting them together," supporting the theory that Lordgenome is just explaining how he's using these powers as fuel for Infinity Big Bang Storm

...that twofold is more likely to be the correct interpretation for nijuu here. Furthermore, from discussions I'm seeing online, it seems that these higher dimensions are less of "dimensions" and actually more of universes? There's a LOT of text talking about this stuff and I don't claim to really understand it, but if I'm correct in taking that at face value, then there's nothing making a theoretical 20th dimension more special than the 11th dimension, making it an even stranger choice to bring up out of nowhere like this.

I'd be happy to look at and give my thoughts on any official JP text related to this topic if someone could provide it.

Technically speaking, the multiverse of Gurren Lagann should also be interconnected with the other cosmologies of the “Triggerverse”, which we’ll touch upon later (it’s not as important of a topic anyways so don’t worry too much about it). But, the main focus will be to consider all the official media for Gurren Lagann as a whole given the in-universe canonical validity of each story.

About time the Triggerverse got referenced! I'm unsure how scaling from Gurren Lagann to other series within works still, but it's always worth bringing up (we will have to wait to see if Luluco season 2 comes out).

• Spatial and Time Manipulation: Within their universe, the Anti-Spiral can transcend time and space and freely control all of the dimensions present. The Anti-Spiral can slice through space and time in their universe stays frozen and only begins to move once enemies arrive.

This was done by Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann, but given the Anti-Spiral is far beyond SGGL it's pretty safe to assume that the Anti-Spiral can also do this. Everything else is correct.

More impressively, the Anti-Spiral could decide the Visaka-Class’ existence by manipulating death and birth, conjuring them from the void and casting them back into nonbeing.

I don't actually remember the Anti-Spiral erasing the Visaka (it was defeated by Viral in Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann), though they did conjure it into being.

An erasure extending to the very concept of mammary glands (lol). Through this profound manipulation of form and existential erasure, the Anti-Spiral was able to erase and assimilate the very informational essence of Nia’s being; causing her existence to begin to cease and be erased.

Ok this is completely new to me to the point I'm not even sure what this is from. In anycase, good job on finding this DB. Would scale to Yoko (along with an alternate Yomoko being able to throw chalk between universes).

I remember Gurren Lagann being a counter to dimensional tiering, because back in the day people thought TTGL capped at universal because of the schematics over the word 'universe' being used.

These two are correct though, objectively.

So to sum this all up, Spiral Power, a spiritual and metaphysical force, spanning and is capable of R>F transcendence and characters have actively utilized it to affect the higher medium their fictional world is within. And of course, this scales back to the main Simon who absorbed the Multiversal Labyrinth and all versions of himself from the past, the present, and the future, which explicitly includes Avant and Otoko. And just before you ask: Simon absorbing Otoko is not considered a R>F disqualifier because the act is carried out through Spiral Power, an energy system that had already demonstrated transcendence. Similarly, Avant engages in a comparable act by absorbing Dai-Gurren in order to break the CD, which aligns with the established capabilities of Spiral Power.

I'm not sure if Simon absorbed the whole Labyrinth or just the parts/universes that involved him (or versions of himself), but in any case it's the same difference in the end as Simon still scales to all the Simons & all their powers (including Otoko Simon).

Dwarfing cosmological structures such as galaxies or even universes, this form is the apex of Simon’s manipulation of Spiral Energy, finally displaying the necessary strength to match and reach the Anti-Spiral.

I'm confused if this commentary is talking about the galaxies being universes or something about the Super Spiral Space. Hopefully someone will look into the translation fully one day.

• Otoko Lordgenome combines two energy systems of the drama CD’s universe for an Infinity Big Bang Storm like the Anti-Spiral. He says he twists this into a “twofold dimension” or “20 dimensions” (depends on the translation) for the attack, saying they’ll “burn amidst the hellfire of a universe’s creation”. Otoko Simon’s Dad’s Gurren Lagann struggled against it.

So this may have been done by a human translator (Hakanai Blue). "Twenty dimensional" & "two-fold dimension" could both be seen as valid translations, but DB favours the latter. The R > F transcendance is more impressive than this, but anyway.

The “Triggerverse” (Just For Funsies)

And inadvertently scaling Simon and his crew, at their very best at least, to the entirety of this “Triggerverse” given the sheer scale of the series. Granted TTGL outscales everything else in Trigger’s catalog of works for… obvious reasons so this section will actually focus on abilities this time around.

Mathematically that's probably the case (though there's also the zoom-in during the final battle of KLK to consider which could mathematically make it the biggest Trigger series, though if anyone scales to that is still up for debate), though Gridman may actually be more layers into R > F than Gurren Lagann is.

Mostly ones that seemingly are based on willpower and emotions just to see how consistent Studio Trigger is with giving their cast all these zany abilities because humanity is awesome.

This is why they are the best.

• Kill la Kill
  • Life Fibers possess the ability to take over reality, with Junketsu creating a tangible, alternate reality
  • The Primordial Life Fiber could connect to and absorb Life Fibers from across the past and future of multiple alternate timelinesand would eventually reach critical mass and collapse reality
    • Ryuko and Senketsu could replicate this spontaneously, powering up to Kisaragi
  • Junketsu Shinzui Satsuki compressed the flow of time around herself

Oh so NOW acknowledge KLK If is acknowledged as being canon.

  • A person’s “Will of Justice” can can act as an energy source for weapons, survive otherwise lethal injuries, and revive from death
  • Love, a manifestation of Justice, allowed Luluco to revive from the dead and create constructs, imbue emotions into empty husks like Nothinglings, travel across and distort dimensions, and generate energies comparable to the Big Bang as well as stop a sentient black hole that could swallow and recreate the universe.

• Promare
  • Burnish powers come from their psychic connection with the Promare akin to a gateway that responds to stimulation from the nerves, and more power relies on synchronization to a degree
  • Intense emotion from the Burnish can cause rapid bursts of power to where they can gain kaiju transformations
  • The Burnish can create constructs with their powers and even recreate limbs
  • Despite Burnish being harmed to near death and forcefully drained of energy, being sufficiently motivated allows them to safely channel ridiculously far more energy without harm

Great to see LWA, Luluco & Promare getting well deserved attention (although strange that Galo de Lion & the interdimensional nature of the Promare isn't brought up). They are among my all time favourite series!

Also on one final note...given I saw this thread linked in that very blog, I want to say thank you to DB for citing me as a reference and using the stuff I found (as well as other peoples hard work) to make the video, and seeing some of my research even being directly mentioned in the video itself. It meant a lot with Simon & Gurren Lagann/Trigger as it did with Dovahkiin & my TES research!

As for the Super Spiral Realm, sure. Given that TTGL creates & sustains it's own Super Spiral Space within itself, which contains all aspects of it's pilots & Gurren Lagann from all levels of the Multiverse(s).

This scene was amazing when I saw it on TV, but it was a little hard to understand on TV, it was too fast, and it was bouncing around. What does that mean? That's the wrong galaxy. That's bad. Imaichi-san said that this galaxy is wrong, but he said it's funny so it's okay, so it's like throwing a galaxy with a wrong interpretation. I see, I see. In other words, this galaxy is a universe that can fly, bounce, and be thrown, so if you think of it as a universe that can fly, bounce, and be thrown, it's fine. I see. But when Nakajima was in the Universe scenario and asked "What is that galactic shuriken?" he said that it would be fine if he just threw it, and now he's throwing it because it's about time to start. There's been a lot of weird stuff going on since way back. It's weird, isn't it? It's a weird perception. It's not wrong, so it's okay, okay, okay. I thought it would be rolled up, but it's funny that it's just the way it is. I guess it must have become hard after spinning at such high speed.

I think I'll have to get the frames out again, but we can see in the Super Giga Drill collision that different universes are being sucked into the Super Giga Drills (which afterwards get remade again). Even if the galaxies in the final battle aren't meant to be universes in and of themselves, we can see from the zoom outs (the moment the two Super Giga Drills collide, all of the galaxies in the Anti-Spiral dimension vanish, but in the zoom outs we see galaxies where galaxies should have been clearly visible before if everything took place in the same dimension).

At least one comparison to the initial clash & the first zoom out.

More on the above (now is a good time to repost this); a breakdown of the collision between the two Super Giga Drills, and how if you look at it you can see this is clearly multiversal.

A fraction of a moment before the clash there's somewhat of a zoom in. We can still see the galaxies clearly...

The first zoom out, and we don't see a single galaxy in sight.

During the second zoom out however, we very clearly see that things are different, and there are galaxies clearly visible where galaxies should have been in plain sight before (had all of this taken place in a single universe).

Just to show this, here are the two Super Giga Drills right next to each other at similar sizes (the second during the second zoom out), showing where some of the galaxies should've been clearly visible in the first.

A complete zoom out. It's here that the nearby galaxies start to be sucked in.

We once again have a zoom out, and the perspective changes again. We see more galaxies being clearly sucked in in streams (even though it's too soon for the galaxies of the last zoom out to be fully sucked in yet). I think it's safe to say that each of these streams is a universe getting sucked in to the Super Giga Drill collision...

Everything is sucked into the Super Giga Drills, even the dark blue background representing space-time; all we see are the two Super Giga Drills glowing in an infinity symbol...

Then, we see a light like a star, and the blue field of space-time returns.

Finally, right before the Anti-Spiral Super Giga Drill destroys Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann's Super Giga Drill, we see the same shot as the first collision, but now there are once again galaxies floating in the Anti-Spiral dimension.

So in conclusion, the Super Giga Drills did not just destroy the Anti-Spiral dimension, as the very first clash instantly shows the Anti-Spiral dimension vanishing, but galaxies continued to get sucked in (and seen in positions that would have been clearly visible had this all taken place in a single universe). Instead it shows many universes (possibly all universes in the Spiral Nemesis itself) being destroyed and then remade.

This something that bothers me

Does Simon absorb his entire Multiverse within the Labyrint or just his alternate selves??

From the descriptions it sounds like he absorbed just his alternate selves (though it is possible that he could have absorbed said universes as a whole), given that to form TTGL he would merge all Gurren Laganns together (and all of the experiences & feelings of the rest of Team Dai-Gurren). Though it's still a massively multiversal feat in anycase (and even individual Simon's have multiversal feats, as seen with Otoko, Arc Gurren Lagann & Super Galaxy).
