If we actually did a debate with Touma in CQC, his best things going for him are his bullshit fast reflexes and whatever other superhuman showings you can pull. In actual fighting technique, he is still an amateur that only knows basic street fighting, not like that really matters in a debate.
Again, difference in mindset at the time. Especially since Touma’s just now taking it all in at the moment that a guy he’s been best friends with for years has just declared he’s going to kill both him and his father and Tsuchimikado already in it to win no matter and being the more experienced and dirty fighter.
Oh yeah, he was screwed on his own fighting Kihara Yuiitsu, who copied Amata’s various techniques, one of which is striking the body in such a way as to always produce lethal bubbles in the blood so that even blocking her kicks like Touma tried were lethal. He would have been dead right than and there if he didnt have Salome who knew how to counter that
For CqC, Touma’s not half bad. The Tsuchimikado vs Touma fight that started the meme of Touma being a bad fighter has more detail put into it in the novels, namely Touma going into a fight not seriously wanting to hurt a guy who begins the fight with a nearly lethal rabbit punch that leaves Touma disoriented for the rest of the fight. Touma more than makes up for it later on by beating Tsuchimikado in NT.
Formulaic but with each arc having their own story, the vastly different Obiect and any other potential threats Quenser and Havia faced, whatever creative way it’s finally put down, and each arc having at least one surpise twist kept things fresh. If nothing else, it’s worth reading because Quenser are Havia are such entertaining idiots.
That’s all great but factually wrong on the people not caring about Touma part. Touma currently holds the record for most consecutive years winning first place of any light novel character…. Or he would if Misaka didn’t completely destroy his record.
Give Railgun a shot to see if you like the series. Self-contained to where it doesn’t require knowing anything from the other shows, especially since chronologically, it takes place before the main series for its first arc. Read the manga for the first arc, First season Railgun has too much padding and filler. From there, either continue reading the manga or watch Railgun S and T. *Ahem*
Which doesn’t make a lick of sense with how much stronger Goku is than than Gohan, Goten, Trunks, or even Super Saiyan Vegeta at just his Base form. Based on his performance in the Baby arc, Majuub was stronger than SS3 but falls short to 4 in portrayal
I just said that. Dude went from stronger than at least Super Saiyan 3 Goku to not able to fight a guy even with Trunks, Goten, Vegeta teaming up who Goku than proceeds to fight solo at just Super Saiyan. Writers legit forgot what Uub did before because he’s not Goku
Only things I’ll give GT over Super are design and some ideas. Baby is legitimately one of the best thought out villains in the whole franchise and his various mutations kick ass And Super Saiyan 4 is better than any Super Saiyan form introduced in Super to date
Majuub one-shotting Rildo in that same vid would go on to be the last time he’s portrayed well since he suddenly goes from being somewhere between SS3 and SS4 GT Goku levels of power to weaker than Super Saiyan Goku like everyone else and getting effortlessly folded by Super 17 to make room for the next predictable Goku Time solo fight. :hestonpls
I don’t know man; to even call Gohan vs Rildo a fight is being generous. More like, Gohan becomes Rildo’s punching bag for several minutes until Rildo gets cheap shotted because the animators don’t put any thought into non-Goku fights Super disrespected him just as bad but has since made up for it with Tournament of Power and Super Hero
