ehh kind of. he was what we call a weak BG (died if he stops a kill) but he also doesn't actually die according to his passive...either way, mafia can't claim BG there

If you're going for non-SRM, which ranked is supposed to be, it shouldn't be allowed.
This, there was no town with same role as mafia.
Ichigo was martyr bodyguard with gimmick that he could regenerate under certain conditions.
I think there can more than one protective roles in 21 players game?
Also town had 2 roles that could roleblock / stop actions for example (Luffy and Nami).

What we typically do is one MVP and two HMs.
Set up was great! Enjoyed it. Minor nitpick about bodyguards in both mafia and town, but otherwise was fun.
Luffy seemed very stacked as well, extreme potential there if it wasn't attached to Whicker
And yeah next time maybe pull back on the kills a bit more. I actually think the Daykiller was a fluke because Flower hard town sided, but there was also Luffy and Zoro so possibly a bit much.

So on the duel, my position in these things generally is to play it safe. The duel worked out great but I'm not the type to promote risks like that - in anything really. If Doddsy was a mislynch it could have blown up in the other direction. We were likely still in a good place anyway but I was not in favour of gambling.
I will own up to a poor Doddsy read. I just read townie into something that wasn't, I saw the possibility for jom being scum but thought the townie scenario was a bit more plausible. What I should have done is be more reserved given the situation though, and just let it play out.
I did try to act on that lesson day 2, but went too far the other way. I had Magic town, and let it go because of how other people were reading him. I went from not deferring enough to deferring too much. That's a misplay.
I lost confidence to be honest. I'm happy I was able to get the right solve day 3 but even then I was so used to people telling me that they think I'm scum etc that I just lost faith in my read of the game. You can see once GoddessBlade got counter claimed my energy and motivation went way higher because I got some confidence back.
So will admit I played far from perfect. Not here to judge that. For your part though I think your lack of reading was inexcusable especially because you would espouse misinformed opinions that you could correct by just reading. And then when you say things are dumb off the back of it etc it's hard not to get annoyed.
