@Poyser this is what i mean
not just fang, but any possible town (or scum bad at being scum but protected by scummates if they redirect a lynch) can be further used to exploit town paranoia
there have been games im in some scum players have done
exactly this
yes the general and universal role tends to be "cop will protect regardless"
but because we haven't lynched scum yet, we don't know what the scum team's strat actually is. and it can be revealed that they're thinking creatively and beyond the norm. ultra and ratchet are good examples of this
if he theoretically rolls scum, there's a higher likelihood he'd go for players that are extremely town read to trigger even more paranoia and gain an upper hand in order to manipulate people's future reads
if yoshi flips scum, then a newbie, then a a player very nervous about being scum (it was suspected lethal is like this), then your theory is the most likely
but because we don't have an actual flip or details on scum strat this game, neither of us - meaning you and i and just about anyone - can't see unless there's a flip
then we can see what interactions are being made, how players are reacting, and what that may mean
If your theory is correct after a flip, it'd mean yes, the doc should and most likely will protect the accused
if my theory is correct and someone like yoshi is being coached, then the doc might have to rethink what their own strat is (disclaimer: it's ultimately up to them)
sometimes it's a simple game of 2d chess, sometimes it's a complex game of 69D chess
this really applies to day 1 and 2, because later phases show more substantial info and things come to way more light
but we're walked in blind
and for some players that are very skilled, they may think ahead - especially targeting specific players that they feel threatened by indirectly to throw them off the trail using more than just basic mechanics and mafia norms
