That's my point. You mentioned his role being part reason why he's town to you. Didn't Magic (or someone else mentioning him) clearly state that you cannot flavor solve? I'm assuming that means the roles are curveballs too

You can judge somebody on usage, too. In addition a Strongman flipped, making Town having a protective even more likely. So far he's the only claim, so we're just not lynching that period. JK is enough of a threat that the scum team will deal with it anyway. Or the Serial Killer. Neither will want to keep a protective around, whether scum or Town Nibel will get resolved at night.

The argument is that the claim is NAI - as in, it's not anything to move the needle in regards to how a slot is read. I disagree - while it can be any alignment, it's a good claim that requires a greater burden of evidence to lynch through, up until more information on the setup is established. I don't see any reason to suspect a jailer claim until we have at minimum one other protective role established as town.

Well this is semantics, but that’s risk/reward which is a different calculation to the pure probability of this role being town or scum

There isn’t a reason to suspect the claim, but if you suspect the person then the claim makes no real difference, which is where I’m at

There's going to be curveballs yes, but the current case on him is not, IMO, enough to lynch him for it when it can be explained through means other than him being scum fairly plausibly. Until such information is established that indicates his role being extraneous, I'm happy with him being off the table. That's my read on him.

I don' really buy this. Yes, his life is a valid excuse and it buys him a slight out but his play has been very similar to his scum game last time. I've stopped trying to scum read nipples is what I'm saying, I'm trying to own read him and failing. There's nothing.
