I’m fuzzy on the details I just remember there was a disagreement about this recently that I think involved me and gram disagreeing with how I handled something. It might have been my game or it may have been me giving advice to someone else lol. I just can’t remember whether or not magic gave his take on it

FTR I think on the basis of kill choice, a PoE of Gad/Poyser makes a bit more sense to me than Poyser/Rugrat. I concede that Rugrat might be the most informative flip though.

WIFOM - by making this argument you prove why you would do it. As scum, you're not likely to be able to prove your role at this stage, so a role that buys you an extra night would be worthwhile. Realistically, we also need to consider that as scum, your chances of winning aren't very high anyway, it basically boils down to delaying your death as long as possible and hope that between you and the SK, you can whittle down town enough to make a game of it. Even making it to F6 would be a big achievement at this stage.
Given the above, you don't need to have a clear cut path to victory with your claim. It doesn't even need to be provable. Just needs to delay long enough for you to eliminate the players that are the biggest threat to your wincon, and then try to convince the ones that are left as much as you can.
