    The small group of investigators and policemen shuffled into the room. They were each given precise instructions, to arrive at a certain time at a certain place. Once their party had formed, they had of course realised they'd been given different times and different places. Glancing over the room, their eyes fell to the centre, where there stood two tables side-by-side. To the left of them both, a solemn-looking man, head bowed, stood statuesque. Making up the centre of the formation, to the table on the immediate right of the man, was a computer with a white screen displayed. The screen was mostly blank, with the exception of a single letter in the middle - L. To the right of that table, was another computer, which appeared to be the same make and model, and in exactly the same condition - brand new. The features on that screen were almost identical to the first, except instead of the letter L, it displayed the letter N.

    No introductions were required. However, that was not to say that tensions in the room had been released. Several amongst them had resented being made to take orders from a faceless detective who went by only a solitary letter, and their resentment was stoked further to find that they would be made to follow the whims of a computer screen. They didn't verbalise their complaints though, for they could not deny that results since L had taken over their investigation had been as night to day. In just the first week, L had deduced that their culprit was a student, living in the Kanto region of Japan. In the months that followed, L had further deduced that Kira had a direct connection to the police, which is the main reason why their group was now so small. Every other investigator had been either reassigned, dismissed or encouraged to retire. Smelling a crucial breakthrough, L had enlisted his successor N, and with that came a change of scenery for their headquarters. Which brings us to the present.

    How to catch a killer, who can kill with only a name and a face. The cause of death - overwhelmingly, heart attacks. The closest thing they could find to a motive was that most of the dead appeared to have some criminal history, though apparently this killer, or "Kira" as the public had taken to calling him, made no distinction between petty criminals and cornershop thieves to rapists and pedophiles. His justice was swift, his judgement final, his decree, absolute. That was how their quarry operated, and it made for a case many believed would never be solved.

    Breaking the silence, a distorted voice originating from the L screen summoned their attention.

    "As we have now all gathered, let us begin."

    It is Day 1.

    After what had felt like an aeon, the investigators clocked off for the day and returned to their families. How often they would be able to do this, they didn't know, so there was some sense of relief amongst them. In spite of this, there was also a sense of frustration building. This case moved slowly on the best of days, and they felt that, incresingly, progress was beginning to wane even with these great minds working it. Almost resigned to this hopeless sense of futility, they hoped for a better day tomorrow.

    Day 1 has ended with no lynch occurring.
    It is Night 1. Day 2 will begin within 24 hours, or once all actions have been received & locked.

    With the sunrise came a new day, as the investigators went back to work. As part of their morning ritual, they checked the morning news that aired from 6am. As they expected, the heart attack deaths had continues, without cease. Once again, they were greeted with a mostly empty room, with only the L and N computer screens as company, alongside a mostly-silent old man. It promised to be another tiring day.

    No death has occurred during the Night.
    It is Day 2.
    With 13 alive, it is 7 to lynch.

    With the pressure of the investigation mounting, tensions in the room were high. Soon after they all gathered in the morning, L had declared that one of them in the room was probably the killer they were looking for. Since then, paranoia had ruled the day.

    There was one detective in there who none of them knew. He was foreign, and no one from the local districts had ever heard of him.

    "You said your name was... Peter Wimsey, right?"
    "Yes - Lord, actually."
    "Hm?"
    "Lord Peter Wimsey."

    The police database had no record of a detective with that name. Concluding he must have been the one they were looking for, they placed him under "voluntary" incarceration, where he would remain until the case was solved or abandoned. Once done, they returned to the room where they met with L and N, albeit through a computer screen as a proxy.

    "His name was Thierry Morello. I had him there so I could observe the room from beyond the camera I'm looking in now. He's probably not the culprit we are looking for... but I suppose that's out of our hands now."

    That night, the 9 o'clock news began with their daily Kira update. As they feared, the heart attack killings continued without any cease.

    Lethal/Thierry Morello, a Vanilla Towny, was lynched.

    With arguments amongst the investigators coming to blows, the room threatened to explode into pandemonium. Seeing an angle, one of them pulled out a gun and levelled it at several figures in the room.

    "Don't believe I won't shoot!"

    Recognising the voice, the computer with N on the screen responded to the sudden hostage situation.

    "Mello. You really do never change."

    Anger threatened to overtake Mello, whose composure had long since been blown. Taking advantage of his error, a couple other detectives got behind him and managed to tackle him to the ground. Indifferently, the N screen continued talking.

    "He's not Kira. But he's no use to us now, either. I knew he'd be involved somewhere. I'll send over evidence that I've compiled establishing his ties with the local mafia organisations. That should be enough to keep him in jail until we catch Kira."

    Mello was taken away in handcuffs. In the end, he never was good enough to surpass L.

    Ekkologix/Mihael Keehl, a Savage One-Shot Killer, was lynched.
    Due to failing to achieve his wincon, he has subsequently lost the game.

    Savage - Kill Kira. "Kira" is defined as any player that is currently possessed by a Shinigami. Ths does not require them to be actively using a death note.
    One-Shot Killer - You may kill a player a night. In the event that you are killed in the same night, your kill will resolve first. After your kill has resolved, you will be removed from the game. If you manage to kill Kira, you will be declared victorious (this will not end the game unless it would result in parity for the Mafia, in which case the Mafia and you would win). If you kill anyone that isn't "Kira", you will lose the game. During LyLo, your kill ability will change to an execute. This will replace the lynch. To execute a player, you must type in the thread "Execute: Player". Once typed, this cannot be revoked.

    After the chaotic events of last night, it was almost a relief to see that the rest of world had continued on as normal. Normal here, of course, meant that a couple hundred more criminals had died of heart attacks, with Kira still very much at large.

    Someone tried to kill ???, but failed.
